What strange or funny incidents have you had with superstitious people?

One afternoon I was sent to buy salt. I went to two stores, but they wouldn't sell me salt because of the time, which was around 12 AM... I had to wait until later (this happened to me in Peru).

I remember being in high school and asking my grandma to fix a seam that came loose. Since I was wearing the top, she made me hold her spare needle between my lips - apparently it's bad luck to sew something while it's being worn and putting something in your mouth voids it, according to my grandma anyway.

I know a guy who stopped listening to popular music because I said music has prophetic powers and when you sing bad events, they happen to you. Its not a dumb view, but the bible says if you utter a bad prophecy, God or your authority figure can cancel the word you spoke.

I think that I was the superstitious person.

My sister moved into a new house and she had put her big antique wall mirror on the floor.

Then she stood in front of it talking to someone, then stepped back right onto the mirror and shattered it.
I said "7 years of bad luck for you now." She just stared at me.

But I had one as well, so I gave her mine.😊

i love mimicry.

but whenever i mimic wolf howls my mother stops me, she says dog howl and owl hoot hoot means death in family.

well... i'm not a dog though?
