I live on acreage that is classified as agricultural land in a metropolitan area with over 2 million people. I can get to an international airport in about 15 minutes and am about an hour from another metro of 7 million people and a third metro of 5 million people. I'm about 10 minutes from the beach and have all the general conveniences of a city with all the benefits of a rural area.

I moved from the Los Angeles area to the country in 2002. My wife and I own a nice house on 30 beautiful acres with a view in a safe, quiet rural area. Fortunately, we have goods and services very nearby and are no more than 25 from cities.

I live in a moderately sized town it's not big or small. Though I'd prefer to be out in the countryside like 10-15 minutes outside of town or in a small town.
