It all depends on how long the travel itself takes. If it is just a few hours, a good friend will do. I have to be able to rely on that person 100% not to get lost in time.

Fortunately, this is not (yet) possible because you can only travel as far back in time up to the date that the time travel machine has been invented. Since this has not yet been the case, that time travel is not likely to be possible for the next several thousand years.

But, I would most likely take a dog rather than a human being although one must be careful in which period of time one is traveling and only take a pet that already existed in that time otherwise you may be seen as a witch and burned on the stake.

If I were to form a time traveling committee I would be honored to have you on it & I like your thinking. As for taking a dog back in time it could have a few consequences or other things that we don’t know of as well. As for us going back in time it could seriously alter the future. As for a time traveling dog I’m sure the dog has to go to the bathroom & when the dog does its thing it could deposit bacteria & really mess things up. As for us we were exposed to all kind of things including covid, the flu & more & going back to change the world.

If I was going to travel forward in time I would only want my late boyfriend Patrick to travel with me. He would be in search of of other life forms in the universe because he used to look outside at the sky and say "I can't believe that we are the only one's in the universe. There must be other life forms but we just haven't found them yet."
