What makes a person authentic? What makes you trust that what a person says or does is truly consistent with who they are?

- real and credible reasoning.
- having a codex and some kind of moral
- fairness of judgment in regard of observing others and themselves
- treating people below them as good as people above them
Of course nobody is perfect but at least an attempt to rich minimal requirement of self respect are important. Majority of people are too absorbed with themselves and their hedonistic pursuit to achieve those minimal self requirement.
If you've known them for a while or for a long time, then their history with you speaks for itself.
If you know some of the people in that person's life are they seem to be decent people and the person in question is liked by them, I think that is a good indication if they are authentic.
But now if I took my car into a mechanic 🚗 🧰 and I didn't know him or her, yet my car had to have repairs, I would just have to cross my fingers 🤞🏼 that they are authentic.
Consistancy over time. Actions comport with the checks their mouths write. Sometimes it's obvious fairly quickly, although proof that you aren't can come much more quickly than proof that you are.

I trust my family because they are authentic and they’ve been there and done that. I don’t trust strangers that much. but I do listen to good church people
I think authencity is when you're able to be unapologetically you.
You need to get to know them first to make sure they aren't full of shit
If they can back up what they say.
Only if you can feel their energy
Being a honest and honorable person.
