Is it bad that as a gen z I relate more to older generations?

No. Everyone should be able to relate through generations with understanding how they are different.

Other gen z don't really like me or want to connect, but millenals & other generations do.

I think gen z is a very - like I don't know they're at peace with themselves. Millenials were the generation that dealt the most with depression, anxiety etc.

Millenials had no way to navigate life other than trial and error. Gen Z has a lot more access towards Ai, the internet, social media, reddit, the list goes on.

Why does anyone think to groups of ages and just not meet people they like?

Because a 40 year old and an 18 year old many not have much in common.

Moreover the age difference also means that there would be a power imbalance.

But beyond a particular age - age doesn't matter. For example a 30 something year would be friends with just about any age.

I met a woman who must be quite a bit older than me and I just found her kind and glad I met her
