When you have something with a problem, do you attempt to service it? How soon or how likely are you to just replace it?
I hate replacing items. It's much rather fix something unless it's just unreasonable to do so.

I have a situational modus of operation:
- if it's 'made in China' I neither fix nor replace it.
- sometimes I need a quick solution. I'll fix the 'thing' with an improvisation that often enough becomes permanent
- numerous 'thing' definitely are beyond repair. Such as my ex girlfriends, everyday electronics, the brake pads on my motorcycle. I replace them.
(not to be confused with 'have them replaced')
- dearest to me are those 'things' that I once made myself: they last :D
I would give anything if I knew how to fix things. But I don't and I am always in despair when anything breaks in my life.
I really admire people who have the talent to fix things.
I don't know what happened to fix it shops they used to have but they should bring them back for us people who can't fix things. It would be a good business to have those again.
Honey, where are you going with our toaster? To the fix it shop.🙂
if I can fix something, I definitely fix it...
if I can give it a go, I try to fix it before I get someone who can actually fix it
certain things, I know they're best repaired by someone who actually knows... and/or replace it with new or better
Replace if they're cheap, fix if they're expensive, unless they're unfixable. But for instance, the springs in my couch broke a few years ago, I just stuck a wooden board in there. lol
If I can fix it, I will. If it's something cheap though, I may just replace it.
I fix the things that are easily fixable. I can't be bothered with the rest.
I have no talent for fixing. I either ask someone else to have a look or buy something new.
