Is it how the people online make it look or is it complicated? How's the economy and stuff? I know there's a lot of rules and stuff as well

Yes. I visited tokyo in my early 20s.
I took my family, kids to Osaka and Kyoto and Hokkaido 2024.

we were in Tokyo 7/8-7/13. We will be back in Tokyo 8/15-8/19 to fly back to the US.
Economy? Japan has been suffering for over 20 years economically. Their current is much weaker than the dollar. the people does not feel happy because their money is weaker.

Yes. Japan, China , Thailand, the Philippines… the US dollar can buy you more.
For example. The Chinese currency exchange rate is $1 to $7.
A cup of coffee here is 35 rmb divided by 7. It will cost $5. But it’s a foreign product so 35 yen or $5. is considered expensive… it’s for those who have money to be able to drink this kind of coffee.
On the other hand… you can buy a shirt to wear for $10.
Or rent an apt. for $200. in Kunming city.
In Thailand &400. A month rent.

Chico I am being serious if you want … look into teaching English in China, Korea or Japan.
I applied to teach English in Japan in my 20s… didn’t do it because I met my husband.

My sister taught English in Korea for 1 1/2 yr.

Go on YouTube …. A lot more info shared by young teachers who will tell you their day to day life in the city they are working.

I personally like Kunming due to the friendly people and amazing weathers.

Im pretty sure I'd need to know the other language as well to teach English in other countries, but the rent sounds good lol

You do not. They want native English speakers … prefer…
But you are aware … once you are in these countries, you will immerse into their culture and learne some of the basic words. Part of the fun.
