I've been doing it for my graduating class. It's sad to see people you've known pass on; especially if it's at a younger than expected age.

10 years ago my brother lost my address book so I went on the internet to look up all of my friends, especially the ones from high school.
The first one I typed in her name and my heart sunk - her obituary came up. She was only 53 when she died from lung cancer.
I felt so sad about it for many days and I still can't believe it.😔
It's unfortunate when you come by someone that has had a profound impact in your life.
Yes it is sad. I've found out about some friends who I grew up with who have passed on.
No. I have never done that.
I feel near for those who are killed by natural disasters… makes me think how fragile life is and to take care of myself, make the best of each everyday and if I can be helpful to others.
I want my life to be worth living so if I go tomorrow… I am grateful, content and have loved and lived fully.
No but I do like checking them out in the newspaper print to see who's getting a religious funeral in an Anglican, Catholic or Orthodox church or who opts for the secular chapel at the funeral home or even just plain undescribed "graveside funeral" ⚱️ 🪦
Yes, Im look at two newspapers online. One local paper and one paper from where I used to go in the summer. I look for people i used to know. I also look for myself to. If I do not see my name I know it is safe to get out of bed.
😂 silly…
What would it mean if you see your name one the paper?
@midnightmoon05 I would be dead and it's not safe to get out if bed.
You will still be on gag right?
@midnightmoon05 yes, I will represent the dead community.
👍😂 fun. Let us know when that happens.
@midnightmoon05 youwillbe the first time know
Yes, but it's more for the parents of people I knew. It's extremely rare that it's someone near my age who I knew.
We're not much different in age. It's unfortunate but there are several from my graduating class that have passed away.
My grandparents did that. I always found it slightly morbid.
No, that is rather morbid and twisted.
I don't think I've ever done this. Is it more common as you get older?
No, and that seems like a lot of work just on the off chance that somebody died.
Imagine being so old that the obituary looks like your contacts list
that's way too morbid for me...
My grandma did? 🤷♂️
