Are You Mature Or Just A Child In An Old Body?

Many are old by age. Big by body, but their thinking and emotional control are still a child.

Why? Because maturity is not automatic. Maturity is forged.

Some are forged through hard life.
Some through friction with society.
Some through painful private experiences.
Some are smarter, they learn from other people's lives, so they don't have to be destroyed first to understand.

But all that forging means nothing without 2 things, Responsibility and Self Control. Without those, you are just old. Not mature

1. ARE YOU REACTIVE OR RESPONSIVE?
• Child: When given a mirror gets defensive. Plays victim. "You are judging me!"
~A mature person, pauses. He looks in the mirror. He realize what he need to fix within himself.

2. ARE YOU FLEXING OR CARRYING?
• Child: Competes to flex for empty validation from others. Flex body, flex money, flex sex, flex "I'm wanted".
~Mature Mentality : He focuses on building value.

3. DO YOU WANT ONLY THE GOOD PART OR ALSO THE RESPONSIBILITY?
• Child: Always wants to be provided. Wants to be served. Wants to be understood. Wants to be followed. If not, he gets butthurt, starts drama.
~Mature: Understand you cannot ask for something meaningful if you are still busy chasing meaningless things.

4. CAN YOU HOLD IT, OR DOES IT HOLD YOU?
• Child : A little triggered, ghosting. A little angry, blocking. A little challenged , veins popping in the neck because you cannot control yourself.
~ Mature : He can hold it, not because he is weak but because he knows endurance is cool. Holding is expensive. Only mature people can afford it.

• A child when he wants something, he grabs it.
~ A mature person, when he wants something, he makes himself worthy of it.

5. ARE YOU LIVING OR JUST AGING?
• Child: Speak filth as if it is a badge of honor, flex surface, hurt people, then say "I'm just being real." That's not real. That's no manners.
~ Mature: is not proud of dirty talk. He is proud he can guard his mouth.

Aging is automatic. Maturity is a choice!!

I think that world lost most if its meaning.


Am I self sufficient? Yes.
In control of my life? Most days.


But I don’t “feel” old.
Maybe because I missed out on a few things growing up due to circumstances and I’ve been catching up for a while.


But I don’t look that young either.


Last night I was with a friend in a new city and we went out.
At one place the bouncer told us we couldn’t go in because we were too old.
I told him I’m not even 30 yet, neither is my friend.
Still he insisted that the demographic they have in there is 20 to 25.


And I felt that.
The idea that 20 to 25 are now out of my reach when just yesterday I was 23 myself.


In that sense I am absolutely a child in an old body.
Because I’m still not above hanging out with someone 3 or 4 years younger than me.
It doesn’t feel wrong.
And I don’t think it should.
The world doesn’t seem to agree so easily.
