Otherwise, it feels like an unnecessary dig at LGBTQ people and their pride movement…. and it’s crucially important to remember that the LGBTQ pride movement exists ONLY in response to the unprovoked and unwarranted homophobia they’ve historically faced; it doesn’t serve as a superiority movement or as a middle finger to straight people. The unspoken but implied part of “Pride” is “…. IN THE FACE OF UNDESERVED DISCRIMINATION.” If everyone just let LGBTQ people live, you wouldn’t have to hear people complaining about rainbows every June, haha. No amount of harassment will ever bully them out of existence, so I just don’t understand what the endgame is for those who oppose them.

It’s not LGBTQ people who are fundamentally wrong; it’s those who oppose them, frankly. I don’t see how that’s even arguable, and in a secular society as we have, I simply don’t accept religious beliefs from any faith as a valid excuse for opposition.

If anyone’s religion is leading them into antisocial behavior and is giving them permission slips to hate and persecute like that, then with all due respect, it might be time to reexamine what they believe in. I think a lot of people have it backwards in that THAT is what needs to be “kept to yourself” and “done in your own home”, not the homosexuality or whatever iteration of the LGBTQ community we’re dealing with in a particular instance.

It’s not something I’d lose my mind over; I’d just think the guy in the shirt was immature and go on about my day. But homophobia isn’t cool and I don’t support it🤷‍♂️

Of course. I acknowledged and addressed that part in my very first sentence. I will happily thank my mom and dad for conceiving me. But there’s a lot more to life than just living to procreate; so whether or not two people in a relationship are able to conceive a child as a product of said relationship isn’t really of any validating relevance. Like a couple that CAN conceive a child are no more or less valid and acceptable than a couple that CAN’T.

I get the joke on the t-shirt. I don’t think it’s that funny, personally, just from a comedic standpoint; but I also just took issue with the implied message. It’s kind of disrespectful and dismissive of real and necessary pride movements, which belong to marginalized demographics. Straight people aren’t a marginalized demographic; therefore we don’t necessitate a pride movement. No one has given straight people a hard time, past or present; therefore same can’t be said for the LGBTQ folks. And that’s of no fault of their own; they’re innocent victims of bigotry. Respectfully, I’m really not sure what’s difficult to understand about any of this. It’s pretty clear-cut…

Again, I have no problem with people as long as they are adults and don't hurt others. But that's the problem, people can make bad decisions that hurt themselves over and over again, thinking they are right. That's humanity in general. If we could talk about it, it be great. I think there is another hidden point though. Pistons plunging in and out of cylinders was a very natural idea to occur to James Watt after a good sex session.

If it was left up to Lesbians to develop steam engines or internal combustion engines I just don't think they would have got there because they would lack innate understanding. I suppose gay guys might have eventually got it but not as intuitively as straight guys.
