TL;DR At the bottom.
So to me this is a reference to back in 6th/7th grade when I was 12/13 years old with probably my worst bully in all of kindergarten to 12th grade education. I know it was a long ass time ago but I still can't help but wonder. In 6th grade I had him in a reading class and in 7th grade I have him in a physical education class. He basically became a completely different person.
In 6th grade during the reading class he was kind of nice to me or at least just normal. In 7th grade during PE though he got so bad I was afraid to come to school. He seemed to hate me for being bad at sports as I wasn't very athletic. For being bad at teams in sports. He would regularly beat me up, punch me many times till I had bruises all over, tackle me against walls, etc.
He did sort of yell "fight me" a lot though. Not sure if he was trying to push me to my limits to fight him back or because he knew I was an easy target who wouldn't fight back... and I never did.
Also kind of random, one day this random kid who wasn't even in my class attacked me, looked exactly like him but smaller and skinnier, for once a teacher caught him and he said "we're just playing" and as the teacher went away he quietly said to me "no I wasn't, I was gonna beat the shit out of you." I suspect this kid was my main bully's brother from his physical appearance and attitude. Though I never saw them both together at the same time.
TL;DR Basically this kid back in 6th/7th grade when I was 12/13 years old, in 6th grade I had him in a reading class and he was kind of nice to me, but in 7th grade in physical education he became a massive bully and started to regularly beat me up.

One year at that age? Big personality changes are normal
True but even then it still felt like way too drastic of a change. My other friends/acquaintances at that age didn't change as nearly as much. From a decent person to basically a literal psychopath. It just felt like too much.
There are so many things that could be. He made new friends and wanted to fit in with their personality. Home life was bad and he needed to compensate. Guys and hormones at that age may have just turned him aggressive. Puberty affects everyone differently.
True. All good points. Though let's not forget that all these things are explanations, not excuses. There is no good excuse for assaulting others (if he were at least 18 he'd be going to jail for what he did to me) though explanations definitely exist as you described.
Why is this in the sexuality tab?
Huh? It is? Damn it really is. I swear it wasn't when I first posted it. The site AI must've changed it due to some keyword in my post or something. I could've sworn I put this in the "other" tab. It's also possible I put it in "other" but when I went back to edit the post I forgot to put it to other and the AI put it to sexuality automatically but damn I really have no idea. I was 100% certain it was in the other tab!
Shit happens!
