As far as I can tell, my great grandmother chose to be buried somewhere none of her family is and certainly not where her husband of 50 years was.
My parents are divorced, my Dad WAS going to be buried where his dad and most of the rest of his family is, but after marrying his second wife, I think I remember him saying he hasn't decided yet. My mom is buried where my great grandmother is, which doesn't make sense because from the stories she'd tell, they weren't really that close and there isn't any other family at that cemetery.
I'm married now but had a GREAT relationship with my mom and, despite my efforts of trying, I don't really have that good of one with my dad but my grandfather (my dad's dad) was my hero growing up and I always thought I'd like to be buried where he is, but I'd also like to be buried where my mom is.
Or should I be buried where my wife's family is, which is nowhere near where either side of my family is?
How do you decide where you're going to be buried?
I want to pay for a plot, a headstone, and a funeral service and add it to my will so my son doesn't have to worry about all of that when I'm gone.
