Do women care about what car a guy drives?

Question

Do women pick guys off of what type of cars they drive?

If I was to pick a woman up in a Gremlin would she dump me?

If I was to pick a woman up in a 80's box would I even have a shot?

If I was in a brand new Camaro would that mean that she would dump me still?

How many women would roll in a car you do not see on the road that much? Yet alone date a guy with a car you would never be caught in?

Let me separate my answer.

Do girls care what kind of car you drive? No. Some will but the general belief is that a girl isn't going to gauge your car against you as a person. If you don't drive something stylish, or if you drive a car that is all you can afford, a girl wouldn't care. What are you supposed to do, save up and buy a nice car for a girl to see you in? No, girls aren't shallow about that stuff in general.

If you DO have a nice car will it be noticeable? Sure. It's a bonus, but really if you don't have a nice car it's not noticed. It's only noticed and stands out if it...well, stands out. My cars before got me attention, my car now doesn't matter. Same idea. A car is a car- just transportation to most people. If you put effort into making it into something or have a nicer car, then of course people will notice. But again, it isn't required.

Let me compare it to questions I've seen on GAG before. "Do guys only like big boobs on a girl?" Answer: No. But if you have them, of course we'll notice. Get what I mean?

I personally think that if a girl cares about what car you drive, then you need  a new girl. BUT if it's not clean, then that's a problem and you need to do something about that cause no girl will want to sit in a dirty car.

If he drives a pickup that has a lift kit on it - forget it.

If he has a Gremlin? If it's cool and clean - OK

What's an 80's box?

Brand new Camaro? Probably not. I would think he's too much into his image.

Classic Camaro - Oh yea! (Classic just about anything - even if it's not his daily driver? Sign me up)

One of the Scion Boxes or Kia boxes - No way.

BIG SUV - No - not into the planet enough.

Older BMW or Mercedes if clean - Yes

New BMW or Mercedes - Spends too much on his vehicle.

New Jetta - Yes

New VW Bug - No

Older Toyota MR3 or similar - Yes, if it's clean.

One thing I can't stand is a guy that doesn't take care of his car. If it's dirty, has knobs missing, the windows don't roll down, the air doesn't work, there's fast food bags all over the car - DEAL BREAKER.

Honestly, unless she's a gold digger she probably won't mind. The fact that you have a car is impressive enough. I don't have a car, so I always have to get picked up to go on dates. I have dated guys with very nice cars who I didn't go on a second date with because I wasn't very interested in HIM. I have also dated guys with the cheapest car you could imagine who I still really like despite having to ride in it all the time. Point is, it's more about you then what materialistic things you have. Sure a girl might be impressed if you show up with a nice car, but in the end it's really all about the person. If she like you, then you have nothing to worry about. If she dumps you because of your car, then she's not worth it anyway.

It really depends on the girl. Most women will be impressed by a nice car, but it won't at all determine whether we date him or not (unless he doesn't have a car at all because most women don't want to do 100% of the driving for dates or hang outs). I've got an old car as does my boyfriend. We're in college, not many people have nice cars. It's not to say I wouldn't feel a little pampered being picked up in a Camaro for a first date though. It's impressive, but it doesn't mean I'd go on a second date because of it if I didn't like him.

No. I don't care as long as it doesn't blow up. Cars really mean nothing to me, and I don't understand a thing about them. If it's a car that's not normally on the road, or if it's one I wouldn't be caught dead in I'd probably be amused by it, in all honesty.

i don't even care if he didn't have a car. if he did, and it was ugly...so what? its not my car. its not like I prefer walking over sitting in a car. IM FREAKING SITTING IN THE CAR! do I care how the body looks like?! id be in the car 90% of the time!

I think it depends on the girl and the extremity of the car. Personally if I really liked the guy I wouldn't care at all, but other picky girls might see it as a slight problem. I don''t think many would though :)

I don't care much for brand-name things, I just look for good quality and reliability -- in guys AND cars.

(1) I would just quickly look at the car to see if there was any immediate damage to it (which tells you HOW he drives) and check out the gas gauge (because I once did go out with someone who claimed to have run out of gas).

(2) A guy in a car that is too "hot" is trying to make up for something.

(3) A guy who's in a broken down wreck needs to get some other aspects of his life together.

It depends on how old he is and where he is in his life. If he's in college, it's acceptable to have not as nice of a car as a guy who is a few years into his career or further along. If the car fits where he is in his life then I'm fine with it. No matter how old the guy is the interior of the car better be clean and it should look like he washes the outside at least every so often. I take good care of the interior and exterior of my car so I would expect the same from the guy.

Depends on the girl, and the environment. When I was last single, I lived in a downtown core ... not many people had cars. If you're out in carland, girls ... well some care.

If he can afford it and it looks like he cares for it, I don't think women really care much beyond that.  Nobody likes to be on a date when the car gets repo'd, and the car needs to be road worthy.
