Why do girls pack so much on trips?

Guys only pack maybe one suitcase full of junk, but with girls it's wayyyy more usually. what's the deal?

Because we're the ones who bring all the stuff you MIGHT need...Guys take the bare minimum and don't worry about the "just in case" stuff, probably because some girl always has it.

I'm not big on clothes or make-up, but if I pack, I've got band-aids, Advil, Gravol, Tums etc. in my medicine case. Then there's the random stuff- all depending on the trip, but always a flash light, snacks, and extra towels/warm clothes. Basically, I try to anticipate all the stuff that I could or might need and throw it in there. Like when I went to Europe one summer, I had clothes, but I also had a pocket knife, first aid kit, rope (for clothesline), sewing kit, touque (that's a wool cap for non-Canadians), mittens, and a ton of granola bars. All of which I used at some point...

Guys tend to go "Ok, I'm going for 10 days, I need enough clothes for that, some shampoo, and shoes" and that's as far as it goes.

Also- remember girls have to pack more just because we have double the underwear (panties AND bras) and we have to account for a vist from Aunt Flo (expected or not), we have hair to deal with (ie we need a brush, bobby pins, elastics etc.), and while you might be able to get away with the unshaven vaction look, we need those razors.

If you travel a lot and you don't have someone hauling your luggage for you, well it takes a little seasoning but you learn how to dress for travel and pack based on that.

Many women in the course of a week may have different outfits, and use a number of different types of shoes. Between the matching accessories, the shoes, the outfits etc., it can add up.

After traveling internationally for a while I definitely figured out some tricks and mostly it was putting together outfits so that I only took 2 pairs of shoes, and only bringing one pair of jeans, not a different pair for everyday I was going to wear jeans, same for slacks. When you are at home you fell all funny wearing the same pants 2 days in a row. When you travel, who's going to know, so don't go there.

Not all girls are like that. But some girls need many things.. such as:

Makeup

Hair products/supplies

clothes

more clothes

shoes

it just depends on who you are!

Because they have 4 sets of clothes per day, just in case you know?

I plan my outfits for the duration of the trip and have a lot of toiletries, makeup, hair straightener etc.. but I'm still able to pack it all in one suitcase! :)

I know I do it but that's cause I want to have a variety of things to wear then you have the make up,hair products, and shoes on top of that.
