Is it weird email a guy from class you barely know if he wants to study?

I emailed a kid that's in my class & also secretly interested in if he's like to be my study buddy for the upcoming final and left him my number. I barely know him just talk to him in class and kind of thought he was interested. I didn't want to freak him out or appear desperate. Is it?

That's a great way to get close to someone while in school. I've used similar tactics. It's usually pretty obvious that studying isn't the main intent of asking, but if he is interested he obviously won't care. Even if he doesn't he may want to see if you're cool enough to make him change his mind.

I would study with any girl who was willing to learn and knew the material somewhat well. Regardless of how they look. Studying is about getting good grades. It's only a bonus when the person you're studying with is hot too. Not desperate at all.
