I'm getting tired of dealing with other people's problems. Does this make me mean?

I have been dealing with many different issues for the past year. However, my personality and relationships with people are the same as always. This means that I don't go around bothering people with my problems because I know they can't solve them. Instead, I. prefer to have fun, relax and let go for a while. Today I went out with my friend. She is great but sometimes she gets into her bad moods and she won't tell you what's wrong because she expects you to "guess". This happened today. She was having fun and all of a sudden, she stopped talking to me and told me she had to go home. Then, I went back home and my parents weren't talking to each other, they were waiting for me to arrive. They always fight unless I'm there to stop them. I'm so tired of this whole situation. I'm naturally a happy bubbly extroverted full of energy kind of girl and I find it so unfair that people around me ruin everything for me. I just don't have patience anymore. And I'm seriously considering making new friends. Am I being mean and selfish?

It's not that I don't care about other people's problems. It's just that I feel overwhelmed by them. I feel it's unfair that I have to put up with the mood swings of people around me.

If your friend went wiht you and soon she returned back not telling you the reason. I think you should ask her because she might have felt bad ans you are her friend so its your duty to ask the reason. If she doesn't tell you that's her problem you are not here to impress everyone.

Making new friends is fine but maintaining the relationship is toughest thing. No doubt you can make new friends as you are extrovert but how far you can take that friendship is what you should be thinking on. Why to deal wiht other problems if it is not related to you.

You should be happy with your world.

She always does it. And I'm tired of asking her what's wrong and seeing how she tells me nothing is wrong when it totally is. I'm done guessing. I don't expect other people to guess my problems. And I don't like running after someone begging for them to tell me what's wrong.

Thats not selfish at all. I totally get how you feel. that happens to me sometimes too. People main reason for wanting friends. Is someone who makes you laugh, feel happy, or is fun to hang out with. You want friends who are an escape from your problems and the stress of daily life. Not someone who is going to unload all of there problems onto you.

One person might say you are mean and selfish. And another might say you have the right to slap down your friends problems.
