I forgot to mention this. We live in Canada and she has a (just keep reading) boyfriend who left Canada to play profssaional hockey in Germany. We were at a ataff Christmas party and we apoke a little bit and ahe kept calling her boyfriend an idiot for going over there to play.

It's clearly an excuse to get you to go out drinking with her. Guys don't necessarily like that, though, and so get "confused". There was a guy like that -- I really liked him and he really did do me a favor -- but when I asked him to let me treat him he was reluctant (like a girl shouldn't pay for his drink). The next time I saw him, at a public event, we were at the bar at the sam time and I asked the waitress to let me buy him his next drink. He tried to argue, but the bartender and I ignored the protest. The hooligan didn't feel better till he "leveled the score" and treated me to drinks another night. Tsk. See how that happens...

Lol yeah. Its a weird situation though, because she has a boyfriend that is playing professional hockey in Germany right now. We live in Canada so tjis makes it a very weird situation for me. I don't know how to answer to that. I just texted "lol" nack to her. Which probanlt nlows any vjanve to do anything if she wamted to actually treat me.

well I hope that does not happen lol, but I am pretty sure that she wouldn't date me anyways. I am about 5 years older than her, and I don't have much of a social life. I'm turning 26 years old on the 31st of this month and she just turned 21 I think. besides after saying "lol" when she said "I owe you a beer" there is no way I'd have a chance with her right?

ha ha I sort of had the same situation with a coworker, I did him a favor and after work he came up to me and thanked me and said " Id buy you a beer if you drank." ( He knew I didn't drink), but looking back I sort of wish I did.

Oh yes, it indicates interest, but not necessarily a great romantic interest. Be cool about accepting the beer and just be friendly. Don't try to get too flirtatious since she phrases it this 'guy' way precisely because she doesn't WANT you to think she' s signalling a big crush on you, or anything like that.

BUT..she may be open to more after she gets to know you better.

This is funny and still very uncertain for me because I have a similar question on anoher page where people are telling me that she is mad athat her boyfriend went to Germany because I asked her abouthim and she kept calling him an idiot. If it makes you feel any better, you are not biggest idiot in the world when understanding girls, they can be confusing. 90-95% of guys are in the same boat as you in terms of understanding them so don't feel bad man.

For the question, I think everybody has it on the head in terms of what you need to do.

This is a beautiful situation you find yourself in. One the one hand, you might have gotten a clear signal that this chick is into you and maybe you guys hit it off. But on the other hand, even if she's not into you that way, as long as you hold her to her word you get some free beer out of the deal.
