How can I get over my girlfriend having sex with a pro athlete before she met me?

He just used her a couple times and she never got a date or even a drink out of it but she was so enamored of him that when I met her she played me a clip of him and made it clear that that he is the pinnicle for her and he is amazing but she felt out of his league and didn't think she could have him. She now claims to think I'm amazing but she can't take it back and I'm still angry

This is what you call a red flag.

Your girlfriend was dumb enough to provide you this info.

You may have done something wrong with your encounters with her. Perhaps you're too much of a 'nice' guy and she feels trustworthy enough about ya that she can share deep info with you because she feels you're more of a good friend and not boyfriend material.

Wanna do something about it? Hit the gym. Become more built and strong. Feel more masculine. Be more confident with yourself and make moves. As long as she keeps that clip of him, she'll always think of him.

As I've stated, she told you about him because she probably feels you're more of a friend than a potential lover. And maybe that's because you're acting like a 'friend' and doing good things for her, such as giving her attention, talking to her, and not getting physically intimate enough because you respect her too much. I don't know because you didn't describe that.

But if you seriously want this girl for a relationship, escalate it that way. And if she doesn't feel the same way (because she thinks of pro-athlete too much), remember that you can walk out the door, work on yourself better, and meet new girls that you want. Read some articles about guys who've had success with dating girls and how they seduced them.

as for you the issues is your own insecurity - here's why: if she'd hooked up with another celebrity (let's even say in a serious relationship) would that person ever feel angry or upset or in any way negative about the pro athlete fling? think about why that is.

ok first off let me start by saying I too have hooked up with a pro athlete...i actually dated mine tho so its a little different but I know the norm with athletes is hit it and quit it. regardless, showing the video was her ego boost to herself. she showed you it so that she seemed like she was hot enough to bag a pro and it to her that made her feel worthwhile as a person (as weird as that may sound). now I'm going to guess since it was the very beginning when she showed you this that she was most likely still a little hung up on him or possibly she wasn't fully attracted to you from day one and therefore didn't see any reason to hold back, but as she got to know you, you most definitely have taken his place. trust me on this one, if she wanted him, she'd still be contacting him or trying to sleep with other athletes. but she's not doing that, she's with you and finds you amazing and you have to believe her when she says that. I do not think of the athlete I dated at all now that I have a great boyfriend, just like I'm willing to guess you don't think of your exes now that you have a girlfriend (or at least you shouldn't lol). cut her some slack, it was in her past and before she never you existed. we all live and learn and mature. best of luck to you both
