What does it mean when a guy says 'you're the female version of myself'?

I've occasionally thought the same if my boyfriend, and it's my way of saying, "I know that he GETS me, because he reacts similarly. In many ways we're very different, on close examination...but most of it is gender related. I like makeup as a science where he likes cars as science, things like that. But we're both problem solvers, we both handle anger the same, we're both altruistic, we have the same views on what is workable. He's a perfect balance to me because he can usually fill in my blanks. We have an effortlessly enjoyable relationship because we see things the same way and better know how to relate. We both aspire for the same ways to have fun, enjoy socializing at the same balance, want the same things out of life and...we just fit together...because we easily agree how things should be handled and respect the method of the other.

He can have many a things. This single comment is too vague to infer any specific thing. Perhaps he's honest and he really feels so and thus tells you so without any ulterior motive. Perhaps he's trying to court you and thus use this as a flattering technique to get you close to him since if one include's us with them and says we're like them, we hardly object it. Perhaps he's just flirting momentarily.

When I said that about a girl it ment her personality was almost exactly the same as mine.

For me it felt that if I had gone trough the same experiances she had I would end up like the exact same person making the exact same choices.
