Why does an ex appear cold and distant?

I've recently reconnected with my ex after a long time of no contact. During these times that I've had disappeaerd he tried to initiated the contact but I igored him cos I wasn't ready to talk to him.

Now he's been appeaering very cold and distant. Guys/girls what does his reaction mean? Please help, I'm really confused. Should I cut all ties and disappeaer from him again?

I'm a relatively recent ex as well, and I've been keeping distant from my ex. In my case it's cause she's with this new guy and I still love her and it hurts to watch. But if your ex is keeping distant, its cause he's trying to avoid getting hurt. He tried reconnecting with you and you ignored him, its not surprising he's doing the same now. You don't have to cut all ties but if you care about him at all and want to reconnect with him it'll take some time to get him to trust you again. You'll have to make more of an effort to reconnect with him

was this break up fresh? or how long has it been sine the break up from the time you tried to reconnect? it could be the fact that he still is hurt. how long did it take for you to want to reconnect?

It's been almost 5 months since the break up and I cut all ties with him for 3 months. I've tried to reconnect with him last week. He always initiated the contact first but I ignored that as I was still hurt to talk to him. Is it worth to reconnect with him again, you think?
