For some girls it is. Some girls don't like when they get hit on on certain occasions, especially when the guy is too aggressive or can't take a hint, or even particularly vulgar, so they might vent about it, it's just another story about their day. Other girls, the ones that like any and all attention, might "complain" about it but it's really kind of a way to toot their own horn. I feel like it depends on the frequency of their "complaining," the way they're complaining, and their personality. I've known girls who genuinely are complaining and others who are bragging.

For instance, if a girl has a genuinely bad experience, tends to be a humble and modest person, and is talking to you face to face about her experience, then I doubt she's bragging. But some girls, like an old friend of mine, who, to the public eye seem to be the most confident girl in the world, but privately are quite insecure, are CONSTANTLY Facebooking and tweeting about how they "can't go anywhere without getting hit on" and how annoying that is, or how they get hit on even when wearing sweat pants and no makeup ("OMG I look like crap and I STILL got hit on"). Those types of girls I feel like brag more about getting hit on and might disguise it as a complaint, when really they want to present to everyone else how hot they are, especially if they're feeling a little insecure about themselves.

this is really hard to answer lol, cause its split 50/50 depends on who/when/how the hitting is done...

cause there have been times I've been hit on and I took it as a compliment and was flattered- by someone in my age group, someone who was sincere, someone kind, but there are other times I was hit on may be by a creep, may be by an old man, may be by someone who id see as a father figure. may be smeone who went too far and even dissed me when I ignored them, and that type of being hit on- I didn't like and felt insecure and just anxious after, almost scared as if it was verbal abuse.

I don't know what other girls do but I personal wouldn't complain about being hit on and then brag about it. If I liked the attention I might talk about it to girlfriends but if I disliked the attention I wouldn't talk about it more than complaining if it was really creepy or a consistent problem.

Bottom line...women who complain about being hit on take it for granted, and women who don't get hit on as often as they'd like would kill to be in the position of those women who do.

Women who complain about it rarely care to acknowledge that the responsibility for approaching is all on men and that it's difficult for us to put ourselves out there and set ourselves up for rejection.

Every woman has a different opinion about what is "the right way" for a guy to hit on them, but most of them love to complain about the ways guys do it.

Then, of course, they love to complain about double standards but rarely acknowledge the ones that go in their favor.

No. Girls get hit on constantly, for a girl it's hostile and uncomfortable, usually. When a girl complains about it it's usually either particularly uncomfortable or it's to the level of street hassle. I think it's possible. A girl could complain about getting hit on to a guy so that she seems desirable to him or she could complain about it to her friends to size them up. But I think that most girls who complain about it actually are complaining because guys have very little tact when it comes to that kind of thing.

I would think that some people that complain use that to hide the fact that they really like something, but for most people, they complain because they actually don't like something, so it's important to know that just because some people complain as a means to hide a secret liking for what they are complaining about, this is not true in every case. So use your judgment to see a person's true motivations for doing what they do.

Most of the time when girls complain about being hit on, they are complaining about the low quality of guys who hit on them, or the disrespectful or insistent way that unwanted guys hit on them. Basically they don't want to be constantly bothered by men they aren't interested in. Some guys really are a**holes that annoy girls.

I genuinely don't like being hit on or cat called. I don't really brag about it because it kind of bothers me. I may talk about it as part of a daily adventure. I'm more likely to talk about and emphasiz if a guy has a normal conversation.

Sometimes it's an honest complaint ... however ...

Girl goes to the gym and dresses in something sprayed on that shows off her best asset(s) and then goes to her GF's and says "OMG, my gym experience was RUINED by all those guys who were staring at my [shown off asset]"

It's a way of bragging without sounding like you're bragging.
