Why does this girl seem so nervous around me if she knows me?

I see her interacting with people (some of them she has known for far less than she knows me) and she is so friendly, comfortable and chatty. She talks with me, but sometimes she looks all nervous, I make her smile and she doesn't even look at me, she just smiles and sometimes calls me a name (weirdo, big headed, pretentious).

She is always looking at her phone and seems like she isn't listening to me (but she is) she remembers almost everything I tell her (even stuff I forgot I said lol) but when she is talking with others, she is looking at them.

What is weird is that she is so comfortable teasing me and being a smartass to me, also she can be really mean (playfully) and she is all smiles when she does it and seems to have fun and we go back and forth a lot and also we have our serious chats but what gets me is that she gets so serious and quiet sometimes and only with me, if I try to push for a conversation she gets annoyed.

Why do I have so much trouble getting her comfortable with me?

I like her but the thing is that when she gets all serious or quiet with me and chatty with others, I get so annoyed. We talk and we have fun but then there are days when she acts a bit off and is kinda grumpy and quiet with me and while there's a nice balance of teasing and chatting, those days she is just giving me a hard time and seems like she "doesn't like me" that much, but then it goes away. I just wonder why she changes from day to day?

but yea she wants to go out with you and doesn't know how you feel about her, she doesn't wanna cross that barrier without your consent you know, so thus she doesn't know how to act around u, aka she's nervous. with other people theyre just friends/acquaintances so she's just being her comfortable self making small talk, but with u...the fact that she has serious talks and she looks down, its cause she values your opinions or advice, she may even look up to you and she has feelings for u. but if your not giving signals back that you like her too, she may just retreat and back off completely take it as your not interested, so decide soon if you like her too, otherwise don't lead her on please! if you don't like her be straight forward tell her she's like a sister to you or you're dating another girl, this way no one gets hurt. don't play games and if you let this stage go on for too long she will lose interest and another guy will take her. trust me it happened to me. I liked this guy and omg for months and months I kept wondering if he liked me or not he was so hot and cold, so after like 7 months I gave up I met another guy who was super nice and sweet and I went out with him. by that time the jerk guy was like pissed at me like what the hell you played me, I was like no I didn't play anything I figured you werent interested it shouldn't take 7 months to ask a girl out. and yea I'm glad I chose the nice guy.

The way she acts annoyed / grumpy / "doesn't like [him] so much" sometimes = "I'm passively-aggressively angry at you for ignoring all these obvious signals and not asking me out already!"

Just be the bigger person be the man who wears the pants in the relationship and take control talk to her most of the time the way grls act isn't personal with the guy it's just that they're shy and insecure but once you get to know her she will loosen up

She does it cause she likes you...even though you have known her for much longer than other people, she is nervous around you and totally comfortable around them because she has no interest in them! For example, I get more nervous around the guy I am currently 'dating' then I do with random strangers...I can talk to any random guy but still experience trouble talking to the one that I am seeing...she will get over it with time...try going out with her more often and she will become comfortable...

Obviously she likes you. Not knowing how you really feel about her probably makes her act cold sometimes but when you're focus on her, she's all 'hot' and ready for a battle of wits as a response. If it takes any longer for you to make a move on her, she's just assuming more and more she's just a friend to you and nothing more. Make a move if you like her.

Boyys. The girl is CRAZY IN LOVE. What happens is that she is afraid of showing you that. She can't make eye contact with you because she is shy like every girl in love.
