Maybe it actually means what she had said: that she's going to go to bed and that she'll talk to/get back to the person she's texting with another time. Whenever I text: "I'll talk to you later," to my friends, I don't ACTUALLY necessarily mean, that I WILL text them later that same day. It's just a way I end the conversation if I need to get some homework done or am busy with something or will be going to go to sleep soon if it's nighttime. I've always believed: "ttyl" was more casual and cool than "Farewell!" and "I bid you goodbye and goodnight!" so I just use "ttyl" instead.
Whenever I say, "ttyl" in a text to someone else, it doesn't mean I don't want to text them anymore, because I don't like that person. It means, "I'd like to get back to you another time, but right now, I'm kind of busy and need to do this or that...so bye for now," basically. But I don't want to type all of that out, so I just text 'em: "I'll talk to you later. Bye."

"I'll talk to you later" is girl-speak meaning either "Get away from me, I think you're a creeper" or "Leave me alone, I'm a lesbian"
