Am I just being a brat or is my dad smothering me?

ok so my mom's away for family issues. it's just me and dad at home. he calls me every morning to see if I've eaten or not. I think it's annoying because he always says the same stuff. what do you think?

You're not a brat as a father it is his right to be concerned about you. They tend to forget your age because their always concerned even when they know you're mature and responsible. My dad is abroad but he phones everyday to know how we are, if we're eating healthily etc.

It's part of the responsibility that comes with being a father/mother. Next time he phones or you go to meet him inform him gently you're (whatever age you are) and not to worry you take good care of yourself. It'll ease his concern.

You should be lucky you have a dad that still cares if you've eaten or not. Think of all the orphanage out there who don't even have a biological fam around them. Don't be annoyed but be thankful :).

He's just worried. Your not being a brat for getting annoyed butt don't make him feel bad. Call him in the am before he can call you and check on him =).ask him if he ate lol

It annoys me also when I feel smothered by parents lol my mother does the same thing, but then I just tell myself it's because she cares so I just suck it up and tell her what I ate haha.

You need to remind him of your age. Tell him you're sick of him calling and asking if youve ate or not...

He's just concerned and wants to be a good dad. Just appreciate it because my dad doesn't do that stuff I barely hear him once a month so just be glad he is so concerned about you :)

He can probably ease up but if this is really an issue for you, you're kind of being a bratt.
