How do you imagine your future home to be like?

I'm gonna have a huge house that has plenty of space for my whole family. It will have three floors and a big yard. In this yard there's a swimming pool. So my children can have fun with it and if no one is swimming it will be my pool to skate with my skateboard. In my garden I grow a lot of trees and vegetables. Mostly plants that bears fruits so my family can eat them. But there's also some Bonsai trees, that I grow myself.

What's your home-to-be look like?

My dream house is a 3500+ square foot log house in the countryside outside of the small city I currently live in. 10+ acres, mostly wooded, preferably bordering the National Forest for hunting purposes. I want a decent number of shade trees around the house. I want a heated swimming pool in one of those greenhouses with a retractable roof so it can be used year round. I want a hot tub under a gazebo, surrounded by Japanese flowering cherry trees. I want a small stocked fishing pond. I want a small shooting range for practicing my marksmanship. I want a back deck complete with a firepit and an outdoor grill and fridge. I want a horseshoe pit. I want a small garden and maybe a chicken coop with some chickens for my own eggs.

Indoors, I want a home theater/video game room with a 4K projector (once they become affordable), complete with a media server with all of my favorite TV shows and movies. I want a quiet office I can write in (I'm an aspiring novelist). I want a soundproofed music room and recording studio. I want a fairly large library of books. I want a home gym, styled after a traditional Japanese dojo, including a collection of swords (in a locked cabinet so my kids can't hurt themselves), fitness equipment, boxing bags, etc. I want a large master bedroom, with an attached balcony for stargazing, and a master bath with one of those large jaccuuzi bathtubs.

Sounds like you're more of a music/ movie fan than a novelist. :)

Well, the music room is more for messing around with my friends and family, I'm not much of a musician myself (though I'd like to learn), but many of them are. The recording studio is actually because I want to get into voice acting more so than music, though if any of my friends wanted to use it for music I'd let them. I do love movies and TV shows, so a sweet home theater would be awesome. But my main dream is to become a novelist, that's how I plan to pay for this dream house to start with.

I think I'll plant my bonsai trees on my rooftop garden. But they won't be cluttered together but I'll arrange them so they're forming together a huge landscape.

Maybe you should combine your two passions TV/movie and writing and become:

- a screenplay writer

- writer of TV-shows

- writer for TV-series

- writer for movies that are made for the TV

People consume more TV/ movies than books IMO.

Well actually, I do want to be a multifaceted writer. Write now I'm working on a series of books that I've bene planning for awhile, but once I'm done with the series, I want to branch out into other projects, movies, TV shows, I've even been planning the story of a potential video game for awhile.

lol... Sry, I didn't get your point. I thought you were talking about one book project that you'd branche out into movies, games and so on. But you were talking about different projects. XD

Yeah, lol. If my books were to become famous enough for movies of them to be made, I would like to adapt them into screenplays myself, since Hollywood is well known for botching book adaptations.

I've got an idea about a screenplay for like one year now. I think the general idea to this is cool. But I'm not about the specifics. For example how do I develop characters? What do they have to have to become convincing characters?

I don't really care how my future home looks like, but they will have to have these:

-Swimming pool, since I love swimming, especially alone at night. It could also be romantic and I'd want my kids to be able to swim

-private library with floor-to-ceiling book shelves filled with books, a reading nook or corner and killer sound system with booming bass. Reading and music are my way of fleeing from the world, and I'd want my children to have the habit of reading and loving books as well, since books open so many doors and open up your imagination. Who wouldn't want creative children?

I imagine a fairly small house - probably just one floor, maybe two - with a good sized yard (fenced in the back) for the dogs. I'd like my yard to have some trees all around so that my kids can make leaf piles in the fall. I'd like to grow some fresh vegetables in the backyard for my children to snack on, the way my mom did. Hopefully our house would be close to a convenience store or a cafe or something else nice to walk to. I plan to have two or three children and two or three dogs, and I'd like to be a housewife at least while the children are young.

I don't know, I've always dreamt of living in one of those townhouses or condos somewhere in New York with a nice terrace to look out into the city at night with a glass of wine and soft music playing. That always seems pretty peaceful even on a rainy day. I like the whole brick wall thing idea too, in the living room with a nice cozy fireplace. I don't have a specific type of place I want to live in, as long as it has those two things including a nice full sized kitchen, stainless steal everything, I'm good.
