How do you get a crying drunk to stop crying?

The other day I was at this party, one of the girls only had a few drinks and was drunk crying all night and I was the only person able to get her to calm down. I was wondering what are some tricks that you know to get a crying drunk to stop crying?

I always end up being the Agony Aunt on a night out and have found trying to subtly change the subject can work. Don't let them dwell on whatever it is that is upsetting them. Try to get them to focus on having a good night. More importantly talk them sober, generally when somebody gets upset when they're drunk its because something has been on their mind, no matter how small an issue it may seem.

Gosh why is everyone so nean to the drunk criers? I think its better to cry when drunk than sober because at least you can blame it on the alcohol

I'm a crier when someone else cries. I join in. But what I've noticed is that you can try to make them laugh. Laugh at the whole crying thing. That works for me.

I just wouldn't hang out with her. I don't have time for that. You're not gonna fuck up my night because you can't handle your alcohol. I'd handle it by calling her a cab and taking her drunk ass home.

i think the only way is to distract them.

I've been in the situation and it can seem darn near impossible. the best methods I've found are to make them laugh or distract them with something else

Depending on the type of "drunk" she is, that may be the regular thing for her.

They typically must be beaten to unconsciousness. Though sometimes a mere one or two more drinks will do the trick, it takes all the fun out of it.

Haha I wish I knew! That happens to me too sometimes when I drink lol I just burst into tears and can't make it stop >.<
