Real question. Do people that have pigs as pets eat bacon or other pork products?

I am really curios. I know having a pig as a pet is no different than having a dog or a cat. They are family pets and smart and clean and all that stuff. But I have never eating a cat or a dog. But pigs on the other hand are a common food. Bacon, pork chops, ham... So yeah that's the question.

Pigs are forbidden in Islam because they don't distinguish between what they eat. They won't know the difference if they are eating you alive or eating one of their own or even excreta even if their own. I'm not Muslim :) & check this out https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-19796224

Most time people breed them for bacon, pork etc so I guess the answer is yes :D

A dog or a cat may be visibly disturbed if they sense their master/owner/whatever eating their own species but guess again pigs aren't designed for feeling that way :)

My dad and stepmom have a pet pig named marley. My dad loves the pig, and loves pork and bacon and any average pig variety. my stepmom won't touch anyting that has to do with pig. so it can go eiter way.

Sure they do. The difference with dogs and cats, in my opinion is that they provide 'services' for people way back when. Cats caught mice on ships, and dogs helped with hunting.

Plus it keeps 'em in line ;)

I would eat them even if they were my pet maybe not as a kid but as a adult I would enjoy it. I wouldn't eat a cat or dog pet though that would be horrible.

It's not a big deal, at least where I'm from. When I was a kid, I would name the pigs and play with them before I slaughtered them.
