My hobby is basically wearing a monofin (like flippers but one big fin) and a tail skin that makes it look like I have a mermaid tail. I have been swimming since I was 6 months old and was so excited when i got my first tail when I was 10. Now i’m 16 and still do it but I feel so embarrassed when I go to the lake because i feel like i’m a bit old to be playing mermaids. My sister and my friends who had one have all grown out of it and don’t do it anymore. It’s really fun and a good workout but i’m just so nervous people i know will see me and judge me or think i’m wired:( Am I weird for still doing this at 16 and what should i do to feel better? (I added an picture of my swimming in my monofin)

Me, I prefer real in person games/interaction... The.. have a few drinks, play cards, serve snacks or a good meal... I had a great day yesterday. We played cards, had a cocktail, had a delicious meal, and a lot of laughs... I'll take that over online gaming with strangers any day.

I know more than one person like this, they are so amazingly smart yet with some of the most simplistic common sense things, their thoughts on some issues are almost comical... lol

How do you explain this? I am serious!

Had a huge lump in a certain area, that it was really bothersome. That I grabbed a needle to finally stab at it. Blood and pus gushed out. But the lump and pain was finally gone.

Yeah, I rubbed alcohol on the area before I stuck the needle in.

My husband and I are getting a second dog in the future.

We're leaning toward a German Shepherd/German Shepherd mix and a male as our current dog is female and we want to avoid the GSD's tendency for same-sex aggression.

We're going to look at shelters, breed-specific rescues, and, as a last resort, breeders.

Here are the names we're toying with.

The world's largest wasp has been spotted in Washington State and obviously they're horrible looking. Do those disgusting pests deserve to even exist? Would you be in favor of their extinction?

- They kill bees, which are useful for honey protection
- They attack and kill people in Japan
- All they do is destroy and invade... useless creatures

We all know (or at least should know) that "white" or "white" women is/are the standard of beauty in society for some odd reason. I say white only because other features like a Roman nose, straight hair, colored eyes aren't exclusive to the usual western idea of beauty.

I can't tell how I look to others or if it's genuine, whether I'm universally attractive (attractive to a large group/various groups of people with different beauty standards) or just ugly.

Of course I've had the occasional people that don't find me attractive.

I've noticed hostility from girls that I've worked with. The same that I've noticed from family growing up. Girls that will lie, act funny, make smart comments or avoid me for no apparent reason.

Then there's guys that I hear say I'm pretty or compliment me but it seems like guys compliment even the most sub par women just to get sex.

I've worked with guys where I knew they found me attractive and tried to be friendly for one thing.

I've had a customer come into a store I worked at and called me pretty. At the same place my coworkers (all male) were super nice and would act weird in a good way or compliment me. One told me a supervisor from the other store that came to help was on the phone with a guy from his store and said "there's this cute black girl that works here"

I apparently don't look like Megan fox or madison beer. Nor do I look like Lauren London or Megan good.

I've never had guys ask me out on a genuine date to get to know me for me. Maybe it's just this generation. I worked at a call center & a few guys in my training class tried to hit on me or they'd just stare.

I've also heard negative comments from men and it was usually when I was dressed up going out and it'd be something like "she thinks she's a superstar" "she just wants attention " petty things like that.

The negative experiences are what sticks with me and makes me think maybe I'm not so pretty.

I definitely would.

While this question is directed mainly at women, I’m also interested in what the men have to say about this scenario.
