I recently discovered that women are born with every egg they will ever get. Men, meanwhile, can produce a virtually unlimited supply of sperm throughout their life. Perhaps we prefer younger women due to their higher chances of fertility?

Advanced paternal age has actually been shown to cause quite a few birth defects, diseases, mental illness etc in off spring so honestly it goes both ways. Only, men last a bit longer

There are plenty of studies showing that if the women are older it causes a lot of risks for birth defects. In fact a forty year old woman giving birth has the same risk for giving her child a birth defect that a twenty year old woman having sex with her cousin would have. There was one study that showed that there was a very slight increased risk of birth defects when an older man was the father, but I really have my doubts on how well that study was carried out. Even if that is true the risks of an older man being the cause of the birth defect is so low that it went unnoticed until they searched for it, so it really isn't something worth worrying about.

@been_waiting it's silly how men forget that their fertility actually peaks much earlier, at the age of 18. After the age of 18 their sperm quality starts to decline. Yes it declines in a lower rate but women's fertility doesn't start declining until the age of 30. There are women who are still able to conceive in their 60's. The whole 'women loose their beauty after 30' idea is just another excuse to devalue women.

this take totally describes me... i've decided a while back and have told my family and friends that i only plan on getting married when i'm already somewhat old, like 50+ and to a girl in her early twenties or late teens. it's kinda funny that even though i'm 23, girls who are 15 now will actually be too old for me when i decide to get married.

I like younger women because starting from nearing ur 30s, the selection decreases dramatically. Having said this, I find women in their early 20s too immature ut no doubt 19 to 23 is their physical prime.
