Let me give you a story of my own in hopes to shed some light on the issue. I got it bad for my boss. A year ago, I would have thrown up at the notion. I mean, he literally looks like this:

Lord Jesus if he ever finds out about this post either he is going to jump me or fire me or both.


Anyway, so time went by and I slowly started to find him attractive. I later realised that he is responsible for my happiness, I am alive when I am at work, he teaches me, challenges me, is lovely to me. Now, I am an intelligent woman. However I cannot differentiate if it is love, or Stockholm Syndrome.


Now I will be soon extended a job offer, and the whole weekend I have been weeping like a baby. I am actually really shy and I badly want to ask him out. PLUS he has a kid. All in all, he is AGAINST my ideals. I didn't want a man with a child, and I wouldn't have found him attractive a year ago. But now he has me thinking about him.

1) That person you friendzoned could be everything you need.


Notice I said need, not want. A year ago, you could hardly get a laugh out of me or a smile. My boss got me laughing like crazy and he tells me that I need a Xanax. He fulfills everything in my life and makes me be the best I can be. When someone inspires you to be the best you can be, you will instantly have a better quality of life.


2) Don't just look at the outward appearance.


Now , I am not saying that you shouldn't have standards but you would be surprised to know that each and every person holds inside them if you just bothered to get to know them. I dont see people as people, I see them as presents. isn't it exciting to open presents? Well I get excited when I attempt to know a person. Some peoples problem is that they dont even rip a bit of the wrapper. PULL THE STRING AND RAVAGE THE PRESENTS, PEOPLE! So when someone likes you, just chill and see what they're all about.

3) Don't listen to society.


Since when is society right? Society taught us to wait for better and attempt to get better. In terms of ambition, this is great. But in terms of love, one is all you need. I believe you just need to be compatible, they hold their own and you can build a life together in peace is all you ever need.

4) Don't look to outward appearance.


I believe that for this past year, I have earned the best gift ever. I look at a person with my heart, not my eyes. If you look with your heart, who knows what might happen. You can find your soulmate. Love and company is the primary human need. Again, my boss is a 5 out of 10. But man he lights up my life. Now I can't stop looking at him.

God I have it bad for that man.


So there you have it. Now, I am not telling you how you should live your lives. You are your own person and more than welcome to live how you want to live.


I was just sharing what I have learnt and experienced.


Wish me luck for tomorrow when I have to break the news to him about me resigning. I am going to cry like a little kid. But I am praying for a silver lining.
