I don't think that love works that way.
I agree that you can only give what you have and if you have no love left to give then you can't give any love. But true love comes from God so left him love you and fill you up. God is close to the broken hearted--and, the more you give then the more you shall receive as you can't out-give God.

Giving a part of yourself to someone refers more to human emotions.
Love from God is on a different level altogether, but i take into consideration that not everyone believes in God, thus the take would be incomprehensible.
