10. You can go out with friends and no one will stop you

Some ladies are against man-dates, some guys against girls-night, but if you’re single you can go anywhere you want.

9. You can have as many friends of the opposite gender as you want

Some people don’t care about their partners having friends of the opposite gender but some do and in many times they have to change that to please their partners. If you’re single… It’s not your problem!

8. Jealousy? What’s that?

You don’t know what that means since you can do pretty much anything you want without having someone worrying about where you put your genitals

7. You can flirt as much as you want

And no one will care about it because you’re single and totally ready to mingle!
And also… You can stare as much as you want and no one will slap you for doing so! Lol

6. You have plenty of time for yourself

It could sound bad but it isn’t, you can get learn as much as you want and do any activity you please and there’s no stopping for you. Do you want to have pizza instead of going to that expensive restaurant? DONE. You do it because no one decides for you.

5. You have no distractions

Let’s be honest, when having a partner you daydream all the time, if you’re trying to study or to finish with work, thinking about your SO won’t help.

4. Drama? What’s that?

Your life won’t be a dramatic film and that’s great. Relationships can be cool, but some are full of drama. You can also forget about the drama of introducing people to your parents.

3. You decide how to look and what to wear

I know in many relationships this isn’t a problem but in some it is a huge one. Maybe your SO won’t be okay if you’re wearing short skirts, or if you’re showing your abs on the beach... Some people is possessive and can’t deal with all the staring.

2. Your money is YOURS

Relationships are expensive as fuck; and yes, women spend money too, in a good relationship both receive presents. But that’s none of your business being single.

10. Whether I'm single or not, nobody is going to stop me from going out with people or doing the things I like to do. If they do try to stop you, that's quite controlling.

9. I think it's quite selfish for someone to stroll into your life and tell you that you have to get rid of your opposite gender friends, because they don't like it. I'm not going to get rid of people that have been in my life for years, supported me and mean the world to me because you don't like it. Accepting the person you date, means accepting the people in their life, if you can't do that then that's a problem.

8. Everybody in way or another gets jealous, it's not just relationships. There's people who are best friends for years but because they make another friend, they get jealous. Some people are just jealous and suspicious.

7. There's some people that even in relationships, they flirt and stare at other people. So, guess number seven has some wiggle room.

6. Like I said before, I'm use to me time so I won't shed any tears over not having any once in awhile but being in a relationship would not stop me from liking what I like or doing what I do, if I can't be myself then what's the point?

4. Ah, the word "drama" something I never hear from the guys in my life lol. Honestly, I believe what people consider "drama" is just normal relationship stuff. You're not going to get along all the time or agree on everything and fights will occur but that doesn't make it drama. It just makes it part of caring and or loving someone, it just makes it life. Life in itself is filled with "drama" but people still continue on. Relationships shouldn't be any different.

3. Yeah, I'm going to dress and look the way I want. If they don't like it, then they don't have to look at me but I promised myself I would never change to please another person and I plan on holding true to that.

2. Even in a relationship, your money is your money and you choosing to spend it on that person or not is ultimately up to you. The only time your money isn't just yours, is when you marry and join your funds together. Other then that, it's yours to spend how you please.

1. I'm not really sure what you mean by this one but I'm not sure why things that you want to do would change because you're with someone.

1. Let's say you want to study or work in another country. Your so can't be with you. You decide to stay because you're afraid of losing your so.

Ah, got ya. I understand now. But, I believe if two people love each other then they can find a compromise or common ground to make things work. Just because it's not ideal, doesn't mean it's improbable or can't work out. That's just me though.

I'm newly single again and this is really true. I love love love love being single, probably a little too much. I spent so many years putting all my focus on guys and relationships and not wanting to be alone. But now I realize that I'm so happy alone and having this freedom is amazing. I can have friends and go hang out with people, do what I want, actually be happy for once and not have someone trying to control me and every single little thing I do. Yes! - being single does have advantages which many tend to forget about. We always want what we don't have. So those in relationships yearn for freedom, while singles yearn to be in a relationship. But every state has both advantages and disadvantages. I think ultimately, being in a good, healthy relationship is better than being alone for most people. However, being stuck in a bad, unhealthy or abusive relationship is worse than being single.

As someone who has lived abroad and plans on making travel a part of my future career, you hit the nail on the head. I'd like to have someone, but I've seen the drama my friends boyfriends put them through while they are jet setting across the world. I've seen relationships break up, guys give their girls ultimatums on what happens when they return, my best friends ex withheld a lot of her property as they broke up while she was abroad. Ugh. No thank you.

I want to be in a relationship, but sometimes I look at the freedom in my life and wonder why. I'm 25 though, so part of it is wanting to have someone when its time to have kids, but still.
