Why do some attractive people have ugly wives/husbands?

To most people, we think that they can do better. These attractive people are obviously way too good looking for whoever they're married too, or dating. But maybe there's a reason for it.

1. The attractive person probably finds the ugly person's personality attractive.

We all want somebody who's attractive and has a nice personality. But maybe these people want the personality more than the looks. Good for them.

2. They're self esteem is very low, so they can't approach men/women who are equally as attractive as them.

Because of this, they end up with a mediocre or average looking person, since they feel that the attractive person may be out of they're league.

3. Different ways of attraction

Some people find men/women with 50 rolls of fat attractive (for some reason), long hair, large eyes, a certain accent,etc.. Some people are attracted to different things, which ends up with a unique preference.

Most people say my girlfriend is too ugly for me but I love the way she looks she's average face but has a banging booty so that makes up for it. Some chick might be dating an ugly chap for his big man stick or the guy might love how the gilr sucks him offf #toorealhere

Because knowing that your husband has supermodel good looks won't do shit to help resolve issues you may be having during a fight. Successful marriages actually lasting is based on compatibility going further than in terms of levels of attractiveness.

I mean, I sooooo want to agree with this in principle, but, real-world experience says nope. Regardless of the gravity of the issues, the issues just... matter less, when there's a magnetic attraction.

@redeyemindtricks yeah not saying that having some level of attraction isn't important in a relationship. But the write-up of this question does touch on a few cases where the couples that seem mismatched to others (like a guy who's a 10 with a girl who looks like she never leaves the library) could still have a perfectly good dynamic going between them. There's more than meets the eye and to a certain degree, love is blind?

Love is blind to a certain degree, but, to a much greater degree, it's just diverse. It's especially diverse when it comes to men's taste in women. I mean, one man's 10 can literally be another man's 4.

We have some diversity in our tastes in men, too, but, absolutely nowhere near as much. The thing that saves the day, here, is that we just aren't as visually focused as men. I mean, if we were as homogeneous in our visual tastes as we are AND we were as ruthlessly visually oriented as men are, then, like, 90 percent of boys would just be left out in the cold. I swear.

Lastly, whaddya mean library chicks? LOL
On a scale of 0-10 my man is about 10,000, and he LOVES bookworm chicks, with glasses, and not giving a shit about gettin' they hair did, and all that. LMAO.

I agree that we're not as visually focused as men. Obviously I wouldn't be with my boyfriend if I wasn't into him physically at all but I don't view it as a dealbreaker that he's not the tall, blonde, blue-eyed kind of guy I always dreamed of being with, y'know? He's not quite my 'type' or what I thought that was but regardless, I love him to bits and think he's sexy af.

Looks are in only in the eye of the beholder and no one is ugly to either one of that couple if their is a strong bond and the love is there.. but others always will find a flaw somewhere down the road.. no mater what
