1. He actually seems to genuinely care about me


Back when we were friends he helped talk to me when my ex cheated, tried to get me to eat bread to soak up the alcohol when I text him I was drunk, seemed more concerned about me when he burnt his arm and now we're going out it is the still the same -If something is the matter he always wants to know, worries if he knows I'm sad and tries to suggest things to help me when he can.


2. He appears to be loyal


1 time when some things lead me to believe that he perhaps wasn't loyal, a mutual female friend of ours offered to ask him if he had a girlfriend (she already knew we were going out but I had told her not to tell him because I wanted him to tell her himself), she showed me the messages and he admitted he had a girlfriend and that it was me. He did ask who she liked too which worried me but when I got her to ask if he would like anyone else other than me he had answered "I am staying with (myname) all I can say see what the future gives" which I felt was a fair answer although I probably would've liked to hear that he did just only want me.


3. He seems to be honest


I feel bad about this now but yesterday I was telling him about something he did that really bothered me. He gave an explanation which I seriously didn't believe because it just didn't add up to me and I was getting pretty annoyed with him and telling him to tell me the truth even though he said he was. Just then I got an idea so asked


"Promise?"


And he said "Promise u"


I then asked "On my life?" because he really doesn't seem the type of person who would want to risk my life in any way, shape or form. I expected him to refuse to do this and then catch him out. He first answered


"On my life"


I put again "On mine"


And he said yes. If he promises something on my life, then judging by some of his other words and actions.. He must be telling the truth.


4. He apologies and tries to fix when he is wrong


There are things he's done in the past that have bothered or upset me. But once I tell him, he apologies and sometimes even tries to change.


Last month he was keeping on for me to do something I didn't want to do. I kept trying to get him to see my POV but he just wasn't getting the picture. Eventually, I turned it on him and asked how he would feel if I was keeping on to him for something similar. He got what I meant then, apologized, felt bad and started worrying that I didn't like him anymore, I assured him I did and I just wanted him to understand how I felt and he told me he did now and he regretted putting it. He seemed truly sorry.


And


5. He puts up with me


I worry a lot and question a lot of things, I don't trust anyone fully.


I worry so much about him liking someone else more but not leaving me because of it, because I would just hate to be 2nd best with him. I keep saying if he likes anyone more to just leave me and he keeps reassuring me he won't, he just loves me and always will.


I got my friend to test his loyalty, I accuse him of lying when he is telling the truth, I drag him into all my worries and by how crazy I am sometimes, a lot of guys would've left. Not him though. He stays and puts up with me. He doesn't even think I'm crazy but he still says he will stay with me no matter what. And for that.. I love him.
