It's been about four years since I've had my
last girlfriend. I've been through four different relationships which neither lasted anymore that two weeks. The first girl was a basketball player who was like 5'9" and I was like 5' tall at the time. She said when we first entered the relationship that I had to grow her height in three months before she could start kissing me. Turns out she was set up by another girl I had a crush on and her gang of sleazeball guys to humiliate me. She said her type then was country boys. I thought to myself Im a country boy, I like country music and live in the South. The second girl all she did was lie. Every time i'd try to call her she'd not be at home. Then a few minutes later she was on hotmail messenger and I could talk to her then. Then everytime I wanted to hang out with her or date her, she would agree but later change the plans so we never had a date either. The third girl was the best of the other two relationships. We actually got to hold hands and talk etc... But then one day I saw her with another guy and she was like fussong with him and saying I'm breaking up with you. Keep in mind we were both the same age. Then her mom came over and said that I didn't do anything wrong but she didn't think her daughter was my type and told me dating her probably wasn't a good idea. So we did date for another week or two until she was expelled from our school program for smoking. Where am I getting with all of this you may ask? Im saying it's ok to be single and free! I have learned a lot of benefits of being single here are just a few of them.
You can hang out with whomever you want to .
You can have as many opposite gender friends as you want to without being accused of cheating or illicit sex. You can hang out with your guy/ girl friends without having a set time to return.
You can treat yourself.
You can go out to eat or to A movie by yourself and not have to worry about paying for another person. You can also eat wherever you want and see any movie you want without any disagreement. Which means you can eat a big steak if you desire instead of a tofu casserole or see the newest James Bond movie instead of the newest Romantic chick flick starring Kristen Stewart.
No worries about pesky significant others parents.
This means you won't have to deal with the dads threats of a shotgun of you hurt his princess or the moms embarrasing baby stories of Jennifer when she was just a toddler.
It gives you more time to plan on What you want in a significant other.
You can feel free to shop and browse around at other singles with same interests as you and become friends and eventually partners with them. If you really get to know the person and click with them,then the relationship will have a better chance of surviving than just dating the first girl that comes to mind like I did.
So those are some good benefits of.being single. I do hope I find a good lady someday and she will be the right one.But for now I'm happy being a bachelor.
