I always thought shit testing sounded so stupid. Then...I realized that I do it myself, just a little. It's mostly unconscious, but I realize now that it does happen. I like to see how much guys can handle emotionally if I like them. By starting fights (mini ones) or just messing with him. Guys can do this with girls that they like too. But in my case, I think I have one more reason.

I want to make sure that he really is how he says he is. So...let's say he's a really decent guy. So what? He could be faking it. Maybe the truth is he's a psycho. Abusive. Or just a jerk. I could talk to him and be really friendly, and get to know him. But that doesn't mean he won't be hiding who he is anyway.
So if I'm just a little mean and mess with him, then I can see how stable he is. Can he actually handle his emotions? Does he actually like me? Does he even want to commit to me? That last one is hard to tell of course, but like I said this is mostly unconscious. It's just emotional.
I want to see, if he really is the same inside as how he acts outside. I want to see how safe he really is. Then I won't end up with some nutso. Honestly, I think logically and IRL, this isn't true. Of course he can just give fake responses to whatever I say or not care what I think and just fake everything.
I'm not saying it makes sense. It just dawned on me why I might do this sometimes. I was really trying to figure out why, like why even feel the need? I'm not rude to someone I barely know, but sometimes I have to stop myself from just randomly being rude or messing with him.
So I think part of that urge is just to make sure he's a solid guy.
