Okay that may not always show that you are friend zoned because I did this before. When my ex asked me to go out, I asked who else is coming. But I didn't know his main purpose at that time.

I think that's so clear that you are friend zoned.

6. "Best friends"

If that's the answer when you ask to be more than friends, you are friend zoned. There is only one thing that person can see you, and it is "best friends". Can't imagine anything else.

Wow. Have we seriously destroyed our own language? I've told guys a few of these statements and meant every single word.
A couple examples:
1. I've told guys that I would've loved to be with that I wasn't ready for a relationship because I was in an emotionally and mentally dark place. I didn't have the energy to pay him enough attention or the mindset to support and appreciate him. I told him the whole truth and he truly appreciated it and moved on, we're still cool too.
2. If a guy takes the time to listen to me and give me feed back then I'll tell him I appreciate it lol.. how does that equate to low key deflecting his (assumed) feelings?
3. Sometimes I'll type out "hi" if I'm distracted lol. does proper grammar really equate to "trying to dodge someone's crush"?

This is hilarious, brought a smile to my face. The friend zone stinks (fortunately I'm not stuck in it too often) but I think it comes down to your mind set and how you look at the situation. If you allow yourself to be treated this way, you're just telling the person who friend zoned you that you're okay with it.

Move out of the zone and if they don't accept it, move on from them. Don't allow yourself to get to a point where you're so attached to them that you allow yourself this trauma.
