I'm not saying that funny guys are not manly, most of them are more manly than the serious ones
but I'm talking about overview and first impression and these sh*t
first impressions I want a funny guy, hands down and to my knowledge most girl love a guy with a sense of humor. HOWEVER, I've been with guys who can never be serious and that causes one hell of a problem. Right now I'm talking to a guy and what attracted me to him initially was that he was so goofy and silly and so am I so it was fun. Now as things are progressing and feelings are there, I am starting to get a tad worried that he doesn't know how to be serious for more than 5 min. at a time. So overall, I'd like some of both.
I think if he's serious then he might be shy or something not showing his true colors or something. I don't know. I think that if a guys really serious and manly that he takes life and himself too seriously and doesn't know how to have fun. to be honest I don't think I could ever be with someone who was always serious, its just not exciting
Generally, the funny guy.
But a lot of times, the serious guy is more sensitive than the funny guy. And usually, there's more depth to the serious guy.
Basically, if the serious guy can hold a conversation, I choose him over the funny guy.
It's not as though the serious guy can't go out and see a funny movie and laugh at it.

I'd like a little of both actually. I want a man that can make me laugh and be a hardass sometimes. I want to be able to be serious on the issues that we need to be serious on and laugh/joke when approriate.
On the other hand I truly want him to give me moments of himself that he doesn't with anyone else. Be open to vulnerability, like I will be. - - - When he does something and I say: That made me smile... for him to say: Good, that's all I want to do is make you smile. Melts my damn heart!
I want a funny guy. He has to be able to have fun with his life and show me a good time. He can't make a complete joke of his life . So when I want to be serious he has to be able to be serious but a guy with a good sense of humor is much better in the long run.
My ideal guy would be a manly-looking guy who is funny and knows when to be serious.
However if you want me to pick one of the 2 categories I'll have to go with funny. As long as he's not try hard funny.
Funny guys score extra points on first impressions. Serious and manly guys, as long as they are not cocky and they are good looking could do for me. Just hope that their not boring and know how to make a girl happy.
I think they would have to be an even amount of both. You want a guy that you can chill and have a good time with. One who can make you laugh but you also want a guy who you can talk to about more serious/important/intimate stuff . Always being serious is kind of boring and sort of a turn off. But always being funny and not knowing when to just shut up is also really annoying. For first impressions though; I would prefer funny. People who like to laugh and have fun are attractive & approachable.
For first impressions...i usually look for a funny guy. If you can't pull of conversation (or a joke) out the air, the relationship is gonna get boring fast. Someone who can make me laugh. =]
But the funny guys that I'd be looking for would also have to have a serious side too. Not everything is fun and games.
I would go for a bit of both. I would pick the guy who gets serious when I tell him my cat died in one minute, and in the next minute he's cracking me up. You gotta pick your spots.
The serious guy is too boring, despite the manliness. I would tend to think the funny guy thinks life is a f***ing joke. I would want a blend of the two extremes, because I would go out of my mind straight dealing with guy A or guy B.
Everyone loves a guy who has a sense of humor. He's more likely to have a smile on his face and on a first impression people are going to think that the guy who smiles is nicer or more fun than the other serious type (no matter how untrue this may be).
I like one who knows the difference between the time to be funny and the time to be serious. He has to make me laugh, but he can't treat everything as a giant joke. When I want to be serious... he needs to stop playing the fool and be serious.
Definetely funny. I love a guy that can make me laugh something always immediately attracts me to him I don't know why, though I would also like for the guy to be able to step up and become manly and serious if needs be yeno I like to feel safe or protected with my guy.
I need him to have a bit of both really, I would need to be able to talk to them seriously about things but they would also have to be able to laugh and have fun =\
so ideally both! :)
but if I had to choose, the funny guy I think :)
Ideally a guy with a little bit of both would be pperfect but if I had to choose one or the other then a funny guy would be it hands downs. I like a guy who can make me laugh when needed and knows when its time to be serious.
well I would choose the funny guy over the serious guy but as long as the guy knows when it is time to joke around and knows when to be serious and its not good for anyone to be serious all the time. and funny guys are more of a catch
Funny! I love funny guys, they are so fun to be around and can cheer you up no matter what. However, if a situation came up where I needed him to be manly, he would have to be able to step up.
my guy's gotta be funny, but serious too. a mix of those.
And of course, manly as well, but not too manly, a guy who cries is a real man.
A funny guy is great, but it is also good to be serious when the occasion occurs.
I would go for the funny guy. You can be serious when it calls for it, but you don't need to be that way all of the damned time. To be able to make someone actually laugh is awesome, but I am one who laughs all of the time...
FUNNY is way hotter. But we like manly too. I don't like serious guys cause you can never have a good time and who wants that, you want someone who can cut loose and have fun.
Funny. Serious guys are no fun.
Serious for the most part
funny :)
either one, doesn't really matter
Funny.
