2. People seem to be okay with girls being clingy to their boyfriends but people don't seem to be positive about guys being clingy to their girlfriends.

Clingy guys are not attractive. And when I say clingy, I don't mean guys that are ok you a lot or guys that always want to be touching me (holding my hand). I'm talking about guys that always want to know where I am, who I'm talking to, who I'm with, if there are guys there. Like no. It's not cute at all. I love when guys get protective, but I'd like to have my own life.

I think it just depends on the person and their past. And how attracted you are to that person or they are to you. I've been clingy but I've also had a boyfriend who was clingy. Truthfully a relationship won't work unless both of the parties are equally clingy haha :)
