Boyfriend afraid of losing independence?

We have been dating for 1 year, 4 months. We both have grown children, he has a few grandkids. He says he doesn't want to live with me because he doesn't want to lose his independence. I live at his house on the weekends, cook dinner there during the week. I pretty much just sleep at my apartment Monday through Thursday. Any insight into how to progress this relationship?

Can understand what he's saying... what's his age group?

To me it seems that you might be selling yourself cheap! What he gets is an unpaid cook (who offers him sex on the side, I'm assuming) with little or no commitment from his side.

Is this an equal relationship? Does he make you feel as if you have a lot to lose? While I can understand a guy wanting his "independence", does he not realise that you're losing your's even after you do his work (cooking) and offer him sex?

He's 62. Treats me like a queen. I have no complaints other than how to get this to move :)

Still seems as unequal to me... to get sex+dinner+independence is a fab deal for a guy! What do you mean by "treats me like a queen"? (I guess he should; he's getting a lot from you!)

But I don't want to poison your mind here; everyone knows what they want, and they get what they ask for. The true test would be some form of commitment tho...
