Who thinks texting their ex is considered cheating?

Who thinks texting their ex and lying about it and deleting their text history is sketchy? Maybe not necessarily cheating.. but something has to be going on there... right?

Cheating is simply a betrayal of trust in the relationship, so if someone texts their ex and then lies about it they're cheating. I would say that it's likely something worse is going on, but that'd already be considered cheating once the person lied to their SO about talking to their ex.

Shady, perhaps. Cheating, no. In no way is that cheating. The other question is why are they being spied on and their things gone through. Could be why they delete things. They aren't trusted.
Would you want someone going through a diary you kept?

No spying, the information was offered when I asked about it. The lying was from a text I saw him receive when his phone was lying right in front of me.

No, lying is lying. Cheating involves intimacy with another. So if you tell a lie your cheating? WOW, everyone has cheated then. So if you tell your spouse everything is fine and it isn't, that her dinner was good when it wasn't or any other fib, you are cheating?

Depends on the reason for lying. If he's lying because he secretly still loves the ex or trying to hook up with the ex then it's cheating. But if he's deleting the texts and lying about it only because he knows his current girlfriend would freak out and accuse him of cheating just for sending an innocent text, then it's not cheating. I would probably also delete texts or messages just because I don't feel like getting a bunch of annoying accusatory questions and allegations about them

I agree with deleting the texts. If its just to avoid the hassle, its understandable and no big deal. If he is texting with alterier motives of re connecting then he is doing wrong.

Its definitely sketchy. Why would they need to delete their history or lie about it if nothings going on..
