+1 yIt might be. But it works both ways. I have a woman who keeps texting me. We dated in High School 100 years ago. I went to her wedding when we were about 20 so I know her husband. They moved to another state and I haven't seen her or her husband since but have loosely touched base with her online now and then every few years through that Classmates website.
Now, for the past year or two I CAN'T GET RID OF HER!
I like her, but I don't want to have private personal contact with married women. And her husband doesn't know she is texting me and I don't want him to know. I just want her to stop!
I have tried and tried to tell her nicely to stop and she agrees with me that it isn't right. Then a few days go by and she sends another text. I usually don't respond but then she comes up with some sad story about her kids or her health and I feel bad for her and reply and it starts all over again. This has been going on for almost 2 years! I don't want to block her because I still consider her a friend, but at this point I may have to.
So it works both ways.

Just keeping it 💯

I agree with you 100% someone told me I needed therapy like huh? If your girlfriend/boyfriend is texting others for validation, flirting, nudes whatever yes it is.
- +1 y
Us guys are naturally the ones to make the approach to see if the potential mate wants to mate.
Yes, we humans are not that much different from animals in the wild.
Where as women, make sure they look their best, for the best looking women attract more men, which means more mating options and opportunities.
It’s rooted in our psychology and survival instincts - +1 y
So if a dude is reaching out to other women, commenting, complimenting them.
It’s the same shit as woman putting half naked pictures on the internet for the world to see when she’s got a man. - +1 y
Yeah I agree. But being in a relationship asking for nudes and flirting I still don’t think it’s okay for both females and males to be doing.
- +1 y
Exactly
926 opinions shared on Relationships topic. Not at all. I talked to my guy friends and met them often even when I was in a relationship. Thing is it all depends on what you talk about and how you're behaving when your partner isn't around and what's your intention. If you or your friend is flirty kind of one, then it's better to keep some distance from your friends before you end up crossing a line. If you want to meet and talk about harmless things, that's fine. If either of you is feeling attraction towards each other then stay away from being in touch. If your friend showed sexual interest or romantic interest in you despite knowing that you're in a relationship with him and you're still entertaining them, then yes. That's crossing the line and breaking trust.
21 Reply- +1 y
If you meet with them alone often.. That kind of gives me red flags. Not saying you can't have male friends. I just think its odd to hang out with them often alone if you're already in a relationship. I wonder what those guys actually think of this themselves. They could be thinking of an opportunity or being the next in line.
Since there are multiple definitions of cheating, if you believe that is cheating, then that is cheating. I just saw a YouTube video that prostitution is not considered cheating by a ratio of 14 to 11 in Japan. Therefore, in you case if you text a girl you are cheating buy you are not cheating if you pay her money to have sex with you.

+1 yDepends of the "context of the conversation", but there are tell-tell signs that will give away any "sentimental intimacy" developed between the "two"... when you start seeing hearts and kisses, and you get youself way "less" then that's a "?" sign.
From these the mind can "move further" in to the "desire, day dream, need, virtual love abbyss" which once "caught up" in it and sparks INTEREST/CURIOUSITY the mind moves further and further, deepens itself in to the Lust of In need for Knowledge...10 Reply - 471 opinions shared on Relationships topic.
+1 yWOMEN*
Female is an adjective not a noun when referring to humans.
And yes if you are flirtatiously texting other people while in a relationship that is cheating.
Texting a friend is not cheating.

- +1 y
@Smashingdoozy hate to break it to you, but it can be used as both.
- +1 y
@Kingofkings1992 it's grammatically incorrect.
- +1 y
You are a female person ( adjective ) . You are female ( noun)
- +1 y
@Kingofkings1992 sure it works in small stand alone sentences. But when you're putting "females" where "women" should be it is grammatically incorrect. As in the title of this question.
+1 yIt depends on topic of their conversations. Cheating is anything you'd do behind your partner's back without telling them. If they ask direct question to other female and they're just friends I wouldn't consider that cheating and that wouldn't bother me but if the topic of the conversation had a naughty and flirtatious tone that's cheating in my eyes.

+1 yI think it depends on the context of the texting If you're blatently flirting and you're already in a serious relationship.. I could see that as cheating.
For me it really depends how deep it is. If she has a legit emotional connection and they've been hanging out too, that's really bad. Sleeping and making out with someone is cheating too, but emotional cheating can easily be worse.

+1 yCheating, in practice, is whatever one of the partners deems it to be. Every single person on here can say "No." but if the guy's girlfriend says "Yes." the opinions of others are meaningless.

01 Reply- +1 y
If you're flirting with someone over text, most would say it's cheating. I can't believe people actually think cheating is only restricted to sexual stuff, when emotional cheating exists and it can be just as bad if not worse.
No in of itself. But if interferes with any relationship you may be in with a SO, or causes them to be jealous or suspicious of the conversation, then I would try to cease that to a minimum. Doesn't mean it's "cheating" as far as that meaning goes. My wife has several, least 3 men friends whom she texts regularly. I do not read her phone, so I just trust her that she's not going in any way of betrayal. It's trust and respect. Without it, what do you really have?

Does he really know if the girl he's chatting with really is the girl in that profile picture 🤨😏00 ReplyLol no. Not unless the texting content is conspiring a secret relationship behind a partners back. But if it's just friends texting each other plotonically, then there is no way that should be considered cheating.
