What makes some men consider certain women gf material vs wife material?

In my area and other places, I still see plenty of men getting married with ages ranging from 22-30. My male cousin was the youngest to get married to his HS sweetheart and he's only 19, which in my opinion is too young but ok if he's happy fine.

So basically all this feminism and fear excuses goes out the window. I thought men were scared. It doesn't sound like marriages are going to disappear.

This has me wondering: I already know how men can distinguish a girl they just want to have fun with (usually girls that are into sex early and also want to have fun) but no strings attached vs the ones they want a serious relationship and more than just sex.

But what makes a man actually want to be engaged to a certain woman vs keeping others as just a gf (even though she never slept around and has good qualities) and not ever wanting an engagement even if more years were to passed?

It seems like deep inside, they do want to form a family but will only consider certain specific women for it. But if both women have great qualities, they are some proposed to and other can be staying at ''forever gf'' status

No in truth, many men are not interested in marriages these days. Probably your attention is just drawn to the guys that are. guys that dont want to get married dont generally speak out unless specifically asked about it. i'm one of them by the way

The numbers of guys not interested is increasing cause more and more guys have grown up in homes with bad marriages. and because of greater awareness of the legal/financial risks

However guys in their late teens and early 20s do tend to be a lot more naive than older guys. They oftentimes think oh divorce will never happen to me, I'm different, I'm better. As they experience more of the world and as maybe even some of their friend sstart experiencing divorce, guys become a lot more cynical. Thats one major reason why if you as a girl want to get married its best to lock onto a guy before your mid 20s. The other major reason to do that is your value as a potential prartner is only going down. Guys dont care about how charming, confident you are or how rich, career-successful you are. So there's no increasing value to balance out the decreasing value that is your looks. sorry if that sounds tough. but its the truth

beyond that, the only factor is her attitude toward kids. for example if he wants kids he's not going to view a woman who hates kids as wife material but he might view her as gf material

Yeah that's quite honest there. Though marriages are decreasing, it's still happening and there is always another man that marries. It's decreasing but not disappearing. I've also heard of certain girls (a couple were those that actually did wanted kids in the future) staying as gf material for the longest and others moved up to wife material faster.
Can also be that as someone else posted, maybe she wasn't an proactive person in the relationship and plain boring, expecting guy to do everything so he just kept her as gf material, even with all those great qualities.

oh actually i should be clearer about one thing. when i say "ohther than that there's no difference between wife material and gf material" what i mean is there's no other difference in the TYPES of qualities required. but you might need greater AMOUNTS of those qualities. so a guys requirement for a girl being caring might be higher to qualify for wife material than to qualify for gf material (but its definitely not going to be lower)

The main thing I look for is if she is rebellious or loyal. If she goes and gets a bunch of piercings and tattoos and dyes her hair some neon color soon as she turns 18, and insists on losing her virginity the very freaking day of her 18th birthday just because, then she is a rebellious whore and not wife material. Another thing I look for is if they dress provocatively. If their tits and ass are always on display for every man in the room, then no, they are not wife material. That's what we call an attention whore.

guys who are not players consider girls who have good morals never slept around and has good qualities and does want engagement is girlfriend and wife material, girls who dont ever want an engagement, just want fun, no strings attached, FWB, isn't girlfriend or wife material at all, plus age doesn't matter for marriage just as long as your mature enough to commit

True but there have been a couple stories also about girls who have good moral and never sleep around but stayed as a forever live-in gf for years and the relationship is over and guy marries another woman he meets within a shorter time while he never wanted to married the past gf.

that happens because the girlfriend didn't pursue the guy any further, and the new girlfriend did, guys dont like girls who only expect the guy to lead the relationship and do everything all the time, a guy wants a girl who initiates and takes the lead equally, the thing is a girl has to let a guy know what she wants, not make the guy decide for her, cause it doesn't work that way
