This guy keeps texting me but I'm not interested. What should I do?

A few details. About couple of weeks ago, I had a conversation with this guy on the ride back to our apartment complex. He must have thought we hit it off (when in reality, I was just being friendly) and told me I should text him. I didn't want to but I took his number anyway.

Mistake number one.

I knew he wanted to try to "talk" and date me, so after a day I said "I'm not interested in dating but you're cool to talk to!" I didn't mean that to say he should text me everyday.

Mistake number two in saying that he was "cool to talk to!"

I've engaged him in a one line conversation. He asked what I was doing and I texted back a while later that I was going home. He replied quickly saying he was on campus.

Didn't respond.

He's been texting almost every day. Some variation of "Hey" and even a "Good morning" once. Bad sign. I don't need a guy I don't want to date/be in a relationship with texting me good morning or trying to talk to me at 11:30 at night the day after I initially texted him.

I've ignored all those texts but he won't stop. I even ignored him in person when he tried to get my attention as I got on the bus a few days ago.

What can I do so that this guy gets the memo? I'm not attracted to him at all and completely uninterested.

TL;DR: Guy keeps texting me even when I ignore him. Tried to nicely make it clear that I don't want to date/am uninterested. He doesn't get it. How can I get him to stop contacting me?

Hate to say it.. but you gotta tell him you're friends. Or hint in your texts with "oh your a cool friend" or throw in a comment about you going on a date and liking this new guy you met. Just something that hints at we can't be a couple

At the same time what if he is texting you a lot because he is also being friendly?

I mean he didn't ask you out or anything. He just could be a guy that likes talking to you,. that doesn't mean he likes likes you.

also to add the easy way is to ignore him. but I prefer woman that are honest and blunt. If you don't want to go out with me say it.. I won't hate you for it. In fact 1 girl finally told me she saw me only as a friend after I asked her out. I was cool with it but I never talked to her again and I'm sure it worked out for her too.

I've already expressed that I'm not interested in dating. How much clearer can I be between that and ignoring all attempts at communication?

Also, I'm honestly not interested in befriending him. Sorry. Even if I were, he doesn't need to text me almost everyday of the week. And a "good morning" text isn't friendly, that denotes that he likes me.

Well then the guy has issues.. if a girl told me she isn't interested I move on. So either this guy is insecure or he has other issues. In that case all you can do is ignore him and block his number. You did your part in telling him you're not interested so it's time for you too ignore him. Some people just don't "get" it in their brain... so in that case you have to be the one to move on and ignore rather then him being smart enough to know he should stop.

Tell him exactly what you feel. That should put him off for a while, happened to me and it worked! Surprisingly!

Tell him. I am not into you like that and I think it's best you move on. Block his number if he keeps it up.

Just be honest and tell him that you don't see him as anything more than a friend.

I'm not even gonna waste my time reading this whole thing. If you aren't interested in a guy stop leading him on and texting him. It's called not giving out your number or blocking his. This is not a difficult situation?

Because you didn't read the whole thing, you don't know that I didn't text him and lead him on. I've been ignoring all of his texts. I don't know what world you're in that blatantly ignoring someone in person and ignoring all their texts for a week equals leading someone on.
