It is IMPOSSIBLE to cut your hair short and become MORE attractive. IMPOSSIBLE.
If you have just the right kind of features (rare), it is possible to cut your hair short and maintain the same level of attractiveness you had with long hair - but this is a RARE exception.
In the overwhelming majority of cases, cutting your hair short will make you LESS attractive to men - often a LOT less attractive.
I say this without having any idea of what you look like now, or what exact style you are thinking, because none of that really changes what I wrote above.
Long hair is a sign of youth, health, and beauty, and always has been. As women age, their hair tends to become less healthy, and will thin, gray, and become more course, all of which make longer hair more difficult to have and keep. If you look at older women (50 and above), nearly all of them have short hair - long hair is the rare exception. Most guys probably don't even notice this, but subconsciously, men are attracted to women who can bear children, and everything they find attractive about women (in general) are all signs of her ability to bear children: breasts, hips/butt, the hourglass shape, etc. And LONG HAIR is on this list too. Men are genetically programmed to be attracted to it, regardless of the man's age (which makes sense - men can father children at nearly any age, post-puberty). And, so, the lack of long hair subconsciously registers in men's minds as less attractive.
Of course, it's just hair, and you are young, and can grow it out in a couple of years, but make no mistake: you'll almost certainly be seen as less attractive than you are now to MOST men during the time your hair is short. Women will love it, though - less competition for them. Women love to see OTHER women cut their hair short...
I have very few strong preferences when it comes to women, but this happens to be one of them. I highly prefer women with shoulder-ish length hair. That said, I'll admit that some women do look good with that hairstyle; they're just few and far between, in my opinion.
Do you have a hair stylist that recommended you try it? I'd ask them what they thought before trying it out, as they're usually great at knowing what will look good on what types of people.
I love this soo much, because I just cut my pixie, and I love it, I feel like Michelle Williams, and Heath Ledger didn’t seem to have a prob with her hair, plus all foxy women in history had a pixie cut!
When I cut my hair, two of my girlfriends cut thier hair shorter into bobs (not as extreme) but said they loved mine so much and thought it was really confident and suited me.
for all this talk about guys not liking me because of my hair, is literally my favorite part… the only guy I would even waste time on is going to be one that can appreciate an open minded nature, and he will be opened minded. so really I lost nothing, plus I always get compliments on my great booty, and my eyes. In fact i met this guy this weekend met him with friends, and we were on the subject of my new cut, and he said he thinks its so sexy, confident and loves that I can pull it off… oh and he asked me out on a date… he has longer hair than me, and he loves my exposed neck. plus I never liked a guy who pulled my loong hair in bed, I always loved a soft tug anyways and I have just enough for that… so to the author, you are tres miserable, and seem terribly boring.
I haven't heard that style of cut like 'Forever,' sweetie, was not even sure if it even still existed. However, apparently if it was gone, it's back with its Vengeance.
What may look good on one, may not look good or even be right for another. Do some serious soul searching. If you are hearing about all the not so sweet talk of Kaley Cuoco, you know she has lost Respect, even 'Looks' from other guys ever since the day she Got-------Scissor happy, to put it lightly. She is the talk of Hollywood horror ever since she did the Nasty and had some schmo from Idaho cut her own flowing fair maiden locks. Now she looks like a younger version of Sharon Stone.
Go see your stylist or someone who knows what they are doing. Perhaps cut some of the length, get it styled to frame your face or even Away from your face, if you prefer, to being pretty as a PIXture.
I believe that you are going to find that you are not only going to be glad you did, having pleasing yourself as you look in the mirror, But would have saved the day, Pleased the guys and no way would any of them have an excuse to give you the Cold shoulder.

Well what I did was when I got tired of being afraid to cut it, I just chopped it all off!! Lol well at least the barber did... I mean Amber Rose short ok (almost bald)... first few months I loved it, but I had cut it to grow it back evenly and I hated it during the growing phase since I couldn't style it or anything. That being said I received many compliments, men still found me attractive (which was honestly a little shocking) and then when it got like 4-5 inches long, I loved it again. So in my opinion if you wanna do it, you'll never know how you feel about it till it's done. All the worries in the world can't compare to when it's done. At least you'll know you tried it, then you'll know if you want to keep it that way or grow it back... But you can never be worried about cutting it again because you know how it looks. Plus what's the worst that could happen... you'll have great memories to look back on with your family in the future and get a good laugh! So I say by all means, cut it off!! Give it a try :)

Main thing is do this hair cut for yourself. If you really need one, chop it off. If you're attached to your hair, then don't chop it. I had super long hair and late August I chopped it all off. Course I had dudes say "why'd you cut it?" and the "nooooo," response, but my boyfriend loved the cut and so did everyone else I cared about including me so I said "eff what society says I like short hair".
Word of advice: your hair will take a HELL of a long time to grow. Its a big commitment to get a pixie cut or short hairstyle, so make sure you're 100%.
Don't let dudes scare you into not getting a haircut. If he's a guy who likes you for you, he won't even worry about the hair you're sporting, he'll love you either way. Do your own thing and focus on making yourself happy and not others.

It depends on your face; maybe go get a few opinions from people who know you.
I'm fine with Pixie cuts and short hair as long as it fits for the girl's look. I know girls who would not look good with pixie cuts.
But - hair grows back. If you don't like it, just grow it out again. It may take time, but at least you tried.
It's like Heels. Girls like to demand that ALL MEN love HUGE high heels. I never got into 4 inch heels. But they see it in the fashion mags and some women love it themselves but want to claim it's all guys when it's not. Some guys will like 5 inch heels, and some men will think "You're stupid for wearing something that you can easily break your neck by wearing them." Some guys like heavy girls, and some don't. Some love big boobs, and some love small ones, or medium sized ones.
I've fallen for women with pixie cuts. So yes, There are plenty of guys who love it... and there are some who don't care/notice. And some who absolutely demand the girl has to have long hair.
I guess the answer is "on who?" Depends on who the woman is and how her head is shaped and the like. It might look great on some, terrible on others. One of my friends is a woman with three college aged sons. She has had the same short hairstyle as long as I have known her. It fits her and her personality. Of course, I would like her regardless of what her hair looked like.
And that is the point. It's your hair. Go ahead and cut it. If you don't like it, leave it alone and it will grow back. You should wear your hair the way you want and the way you think it looks good, and quit worrying about whether guys will like it. Yes, looks matter to guys. But not all guys like the same thing, and actually, looks often matter less than you think. As long as you are not wearing a Mohawk (and some guys would like that) some guys are going to find you attractive. If you back that up with a smile and a personality, your hair is not going to be a major issue. And you are more likely to have those if you do what you want, what makes you comfortable, and what you think looks good, rather than trying to please someone else.
I say cut it! I actually didn't think I'd like girls with short hair or even pixie cuts until my ex actually went ahead and got it done. I freakin LOVE girls with short hair more so than long hair now. It's different, it's new, it also takes a great deal of self-confidence to rock a cut that many guys are not into, obviously looking at many of the posts. I would however use discretion as to just how short you are going to cut it, don't go any shorter than to where you'd feel uncomfortable in it. So yes, get it, rock it and have that inner rock solid self-confidence because regardless of hair, that trait alone is sexy enough. Total game changer in my book.
As a guy I find girls with short hair (especially pixie cuts even though just a second ago I didn't know it had a name) really attractive. I dont know why but I just do.
While most of my friends would find a girl unattractive with short hair, I find it extremely attractive. To the point where if a girl walks by with short hair and im single they'll tell me. I think it looks really cute.
But this honestly comes down to a guy's preference. Like MrOracle over here doesn't like short hair but thats his personal opinion; i do like it. So if you're trying to do it for your boyfriend or for a specific guy you'll know he'll like it, or for yourself then just get it. I'm a guy so I dont know how long it will take to get your normal look back but I think it will take a couple of months? I don't know :P

It is totally up to you. I really like short hair and right now I have a super short hair cut. It is not the end of the world if you dont like it. It grows back. Though dont allow anyone to make you not do something that you want to do. It is your decision and no one else's.
This is my hair and at first many people said I should not do it. But I think it looks nice.

Essentially if you have a decent/pretty face, you can do any style you want.
Darling, you're just 18 to 24. You have yeeears ahead of you where you'll continue to look hot. Your hair will take at the most a year to grow seriously long again. And in any case, long hair is generally considered boring and a large majority of women look best with medium length hair, So you're looking at merely half a year to a year of growing your hair out IF you really don't like it. Second, a lot of men like women with short hair and I can't tell you the number of quality men who have told me that they think short hair is MORE feminine. You stand out.

I think I asked a very similar question before I got a pixie cut. Let me tell you it was the best decision I could have made. Yep, not every one is going to love it (usually the traditional types who love long homemaker hair) and certain types of guys are gonna count you out unfortunately. However doesn't mean I had any less male attention, just shifted types!!! I stopped attracting douchey jocks at such, and attracted the mature, more unconventional artistic types. If the pixie is done right, the is a certain allure about the girl, and these guys who aren't necessarily traditional in what the look for in looks, will find it endearing, approachable and attractive!!! Also it's personality to go with it as well, guys won't stop loving you!!!

You don't have to worry if a guy likes you because of your hair. That's extremely silly. I wouldn't want to impress some judgmental brute anyhow.
If I guy truly likes you and finds you attractive, hair length shouldn't matter. I believe chemistry counts the most.
Being able to have nice conversation, and understanding each other should be what you aim for in a guy!

Old fashioned men will probably not like it, but at our age, there are plenty of people who can find the hair do to be quite cute :)
My father hated my short hair though. He is old fashioned, so if you are playful and spunky, and have the looks to pull off the short hair, please do it!

Honestly, I think it depends on the person. Some people can pull it off and look more attractive with shorter hair, while some girls look better with longer hair. For me, I find that I look much younger with short hair and though I feel I look more attractive with long hair, I hate taking care of it as short hair feelings much lighter. Try it, no matter what it WILL grow back lol. I always grow my hair really long and then cut it just a little bit above the shoulders so I can donate my hair for wigs for people with cancer. Just remember, hair grows back so even if it doesn't look as good as u hoped, it won't be long till you get some more length haha.
A lot of people will tell you not to do it, but I personally know some guys that love pixie cuts and some girls who love their hair that short and don't want to grow it out.

My husband prefers longer hair, but met me with a longish pixie cut, and fell in love with me that way and thinks I was just as beautiful with shorter hair.
It's your hair. It matters if you think you look good, no one else. And any guy worth being with will like you and will think your gorgeous even if pixie cuts aren't his preference.
And if you don't like it, it grows back, there are extensions and wigs. You'll be fine and beautiful no matter your decision.
Some girls look great with short hair and That's perfectly fine for them. Like, Anne Hathaway looks great. But I have never had my hair longer than shoulder length due to cutting it all off twice in my life. The first time I was in kindergarten so it wasn't so bad but the second time I was in grade six and it has taken three years to get my hair back to shoulder length because until its at your neck it takes forever to grow even a little bit. I personally look horrible with short hair haha. it's a tough look to pull off and lot's of people just can't do it. Point is, I don't recommend it.

Not my cup of tea, however attracted I am to some cover gals like this, they would just be friends or friends with benefits at most... not a soul mate or wife.
If you want be attractive to MOST guys, don't do it. Most guys turn down women for having short hair. Like being overweight, it's the first thing they'll see and they will instantly turn you down no matter how pretty your face is. It's crazy, but it's true for most guys. Some guys don't care as much about hair, but they are sadly the minority... just like only a minority can overlook the weight if the face is very pretty.
So mostly, pixie cuts are for oneself... and to weed out the 'shallow guys' :)
Cut it if you want to cut it. I usually like longer or pulled back hair over short, but I knew a girl who actually looked more awesome with a pixie cut than the long hair she had previously. I think the pixie cut doesn't work for everyone, but it looks great when it does. Looks aren't all about hair. Guys will still think you are pretty either way. So do what makes you happy.
