Trying not to be upset that my bf wants to go fishing the whole weekend instead of being with me? Guys help?

OK my bf is a BIG fisherman, something I totally support.
Well for the past year and a half we have been seeing each other mainly on weekends and once on a weeknight.
He has two friends that each want to go fishing one on Saturday and one on Sunday.
Im really bummed about it I dont know why and know I probably shouldn't take it personally but it sort of hurt my feelings but I kept it all to myself and told him to have a good time.
It would be different if we saw each other every day but we dont.
Guys how can I not be bummed about it and not take it personally?

I love fishing! Whenever I have gone with my dad, stepdad, or my boyfriend, I almost always caught more and bigger fish than they do!

It is so cool being out in nature and I personally love driving the boat!

Cool thing is being able to wear a bikini when it gets hot and I love seen the look on other peeps fishing when they see me in a cute little black bikini AND I have just caught a 2 pound 2 foot trout!!

Me personally, I would go fishing with him. You might find you like it a lot AND it does keep the "boy talk" about us girls down to a minimum.

(Also, I admit having sex in the boat was a little strange at first, but knowing other people are around, made it so hot and dangerous! Plus, wearing a bikini, I can jump in the water to wash away any "evidence".)

I would go at least once with your boyfriend. If you dont catch any fish, you need to go again until you do catch one. The thrill of catching a fish is like overpowering and the adrenaline rush from it is awesume!

Plus, it is a great way to bond with your boyfriend and get some alone time with just him.

It's okay to feel disappointed---I'm sure you look forward to seeing him on the weekends. But it's important for the two of you to also be able to spend time with your friends and do the things you love. It's just one weekend.

Instead of sitting around feeling bummed, you should make some plans of your own. Get together with some friends; and/or take some time doing one of your favourite hobbies that you may have neglected a bit since you spend all your weekends with your boyfriend.

I think it's fine to tell him that you're going to miss him, but to be honest, I think you were right in not telling him how bothered you are by him going. He isn't doing anything wrong, so he shouldn't be made to feel guilty for spending some time with his friends doing something he loves.

Don't be upset! It doesn't sound like it's intentionally. Let him have a good time fishing and use that weekend to do something nice on your own.

It's just the weekend and its nothing personal its just when guys fish it's relaxing. It's just us, the rod, the fish and nature it's a good release from modern life and stress it puts on all of us. He also probably didn't realize you were hurt by it, maybe you can compromise he has this weekend with his buddies and next week its all about just you. Relationships are all about making compromises and working through stuff.

Understand that he's not ditching you, he's actually trying to please TWO friends in the same weekend!

Maybe he's a bit stressed? Just give him a call and tell him you miss him :(

Ask to go with him. Trade date weekends. This weekend he does what he wants you included and next weekend its what you want no exceptions
