Should I surprise visit my long distance boyfriend?

I live in Virginia and my boyfriend lives in Colorado. We just recently got back together because we realize how much we both love each other and I plan to move to colorado within a year or so to be with him. Our break up was not a bad one at all and we kept in touch over the past 4 years with random emails, he came to visit this past week and were unable to spend very much time together due to my work schedule and his visiting family members. He decided to come a few days before he actually got here so we didn't have much time to plan. Every time we talk on the phone, if i say Im driving, he always asks "where to, colorado?". Anyways, his work schedule isn't too busy and he can come and go as he pleases. I'm just curious if it would be awkward or what?

Thank you for all your opinions! I decided to ask how he'd feel about me coming to see him soon and he loved the idea. I would love to surprise him but it would probably be best to schedule it that way he can plan too. I seriously have no reason to think that I'd catch him with another girl, could always happen but not likely. However, i would most definitely want to know. Although that would never be my reason for a surprise visit

Not a good idea. No man likes surprises; it rips away any sort of control and men need to be in control. Your surprise visit may end up surprising you... like finding out he already has a girlfriend! If you're going to take a long distance trip to see him, you should first talk to him. You can never know what's happening in his world if you're not willing to talk to him first before any visit. Again, no man likes surprises.

So him having a girlfriend isn't something she'd like to find out? Lmao, that's some bad logic, obviously it's not something she wants, but it's better to know. And speak for yourself, I'd love a surprise visit if I was in a long distance relationship. The only thing that made any sense was the whole schedule thing, however she said he's not all that busy, so I say go for it, if he's put off by it maybe he doesn't want you around for some reason.
