My girlfriend gets upset when I go to visit my family. I don't know what to do?

(Updated) My girlfriend, of 1 year and 3 months, is senior in high school and I graduated 2 years ago. 6 months in the relationship she has never really complained of me going out anywhere or even my family. After those 6 months, every time my family is going to visit my uncles and aunts, my girlfriend gets upset of me going. She tells me to stay so we can talk on the phone. She even threatens to leave me and has left me before for going to visit my family members who are only an 1hr & 30 mins away. When she gets upset I have to tell my parents I don't wanna go and stay home so I can talk to my girlfriend and not have her so upset. I don't even go to my cousins often as I use to because of her getting upset of me going out. I mean I don't tell her anything when she goes out or visits her family members because I understand it's her family and something one should cherish. But when I go out even when I'm gonna stay over at my cousins she gets mad and ends up leaving me and then comes back the next day. She tells me that if I love her I would stay and that she makes so much sacrifices so why can't I. Sometimes I end up going to my cousins even when she is upset because i dont like it when she gets upset about me seeing my family and along the way there she keeps texting me and arguing about me going and that I don't want to stay so I can talk to her when I do want to talk to her but I also want to spend time with my family. I spend more time talking and seeing her than my family. I mean I've disobey my parents by not wanting to go to my cousins for her so many times. Tomorrow I am going to my cousins and sleeping over because im my family is going over to watch a boxing match, but I haven't told her yet. I am going to tell her today but I don't know what to do because I know how she will react to it. . I want to go visit my family and have a good time this is why I don't want her upset for tomorrow. What should I do when this happens?

Why do you put up with that? Just tell her that as much as you love her, she isn't the only important person in your life and that your family matters to you too. You shouldn't ever feel like you have to set aside your other important relationships for an SO - that's not healthy.

you should try to convince her, that no matter what, your family will always be your family, why don't try to introduce her to them and get her more involved in your family activities? that would cool and you wouldn't have to pick between your family and your girlfriend!

She's a control freak, very insecure, clingy/needy, and probably not completely sane. Do you want to spend the rest of your life feeling like you're walking on pins and needles whenever you do or say something she doesn't like? Then why are you still with her?

You a better man then me. I can't put up with someone like that. She is very selfish to interfere with you spending time with family. The way she acts should be a red flag for you.
