My girlfriend won‘t let me meet her family?

My girlfriend and I have been together for one year now and she didn’t want me to meet her family in the beginner neither does she now. I don’t understand why and when I ask her about it she gets pretty defensive and distracts from the topic or says ‚Because I don‘t want to.‘. What do you think what the reasons could be? Did I maybe do something wrong?

She might have a bad family she is worried will trash her or sabotage her relationship with you. If I get a fiancee I don't want him to meet my parents until they are dying cause I don't want them blocking the relationship by kicking me out or cutting off my inheritance or creating fake police reports that I'm being abused by him which is what they did when I previously liked somebody years ago.

He never met my family either because they are very toxic and I’m not close with them as well

I read this book once called "How to meet women." Chapter 5 was "How to meet her parents." It was 1 word. "Don't"
