Boyfriend's apartment is a HUGE Mess and he wants me to clean it?

My boyfriends apartment is a Huge disgusting mess. I don't go over there that often just because walking in there makes me feel sick. I mean he has clothes littered all over the floor, the dishes haven't been done in weeks, he has mold growing in his fridge, his toilet and shower haven't been cleaned in about 3 months, he has trash laying around everywhere, just the whole place is one gigantic pig sty. I have helped him clean it before, but lately my work schedule has prevented me from helping him out as much as I use to. Today I tried to go over there and tidy it up while he is working, but the talk was so overwhelming by myself that I just gave up. We want to move in together, but I feel like he expects me to do everything when it comes to cleaning the place. I don't mind cleaning, but his place has just gotten so bad that I know that I can't do it on my own. How should I address this issue with him? I just don't know what to do. PLEASE HELP!

Your story is funny. Tell him to make garbage angels on his floor! Anyway consider compatibility issues with this guy. If he thinks he can trash his place and just magically have you clean it without him showing any concern for returning the favor, that could be a problem. The fact that he is a slob could be an eye opener about other aspects of his character.

Think about his character before you two decide to live together, because it very well could be another disaster waiting to happen. The fact that he thinks you will clean his 3 month old super mess could be an indicator that he does not care about your needs. Pay attention to that. Look for other character flaws. It's not about the fact that he is dirty, but his behavior indicates that he shows no compassion for you.

This is his first time living on his own, I guess that he just got used to others cleaning for him. I just don't know what to do, I don't want to leave cause of it but I don't know what I should do!

Talk to him seriously and tell him that if he wants to live with you, he'll have to learn to clean up his crap. If he wants to live with you, he'll do it.

The question is do you want a relationship with someone who is so untidy? Ewh! That being said, I would just talk to him directly and let him know that you relationship can't move forward unless he addresses the cleaning issues. Don't baby him and clean his mess, make him clean up for himself. It's cool to help from time to time but really that falls on him. If he knows that you all aren't moving forward without the cleaning being addressed and he still want do any cleaning, maybe you aren't the best match.
